Default P4 V2

Specs so far.

P4 V2 chassis
losi xxx trans
65 turn
Axial chrome beadlocks.
5645 for the steering.
Mamba Max ESC
DX3 TX/RX

comparison pics of the p4 and sw2. The p4 is just a little smaller. Also has lots of open space for working on the trans.

roller with trans mounted and axles connected.

The servo mount covers the entire axle for mounting electronics, or batteries. Those are GP1100's

Pic from above.

It is a start. Hopefully it will be running this weekend.

P4 looks very nice but kinda thin...I'd bend that thing for sure...love the design but needs a lil more bracing. Where are your body mounts and what body?

Thin? It is pretty thick. Thicker than the sw2. Maby Tyler know's the exact thickness, but I would say 4mm.

I think the thickness of the plate will help, but the problem is there is going to be so much force applied on the shock towers that will transfer all the way to the tranny plate. With the holes for the link mounts where they are the effective wall thickness is VERY thin. I would hope they did a stress test simulation on it during the engineering phase of the design. I can see problems with fatigue of the chassis over time.

I think it is a great looking chassis, I love how it looks. I just see a few concerns. I bet it will really perform well though.

The chassis is made of 1/8 aluminum and so far there's been no breakage or bending. There's been no official "stress test simulation", but I have had some pretty big falls (10 foot or so down near vertical rockfaces) and so far nothing . I do back my product though and say that it's plenty strong for these little trucks. Of course if something were to break though, I will be happy to provide replacements.

Thin as viewed from the side...0.125" is good (when viewed edge-wise) but the overall material thickness will probably break from fatigue and would bend alot easier than some thicker.

I understand what you are both saying.

If I hold the truck and cycle the suspension you do get some flex. You have to really force it to get the chassis to flex. I added some braces above the upper link mounts and behind the tranny plate and it is better.

So adding the 3 extra braces may not be a bad idea.

Batteries are not mounted but it should give you an idea. Depending on the track width, either config should work

Added the Mamba Max and a DX3 so it is running. So far im happy with how it climbs around in the house.

We are having a GTG tomorrow, so we will see how well it will perform on some rocks.

I did not have enough time to paint a lid so im using this. I kinda like it.

Turblankas: Those axle plates come with the P4 chassis.

TLTRyan: The truck looks great! I need to get some pics up of mine soon. I machined up some delrin beadlocks, and painted up a D90 for it. It looks really good.
