the XL5 and old pede use the same case, the only diff between them really is the slipper setup, I run a XL5 in my comp truck.... you dont really need to change out you're stock drive shafts and yokes, but you will eventually want metal outdrives |

The stock tlt drive yoke can be modded to work, but it is much easier/better to use jato, pede or maxx shafts. You can either use setscrews in your yokes, or drill the pinion to accept the pin.

You'll need another set of pede/rustler yokes. They will have to modified a little to fit on the bevel gear shaft. Which gets you to the first step, remove the joint cup (brass cup that the dogbone used to sit into) from the bevel gear shaft of the axle. See how the bottom of the cup was flat (the side closest to the axle)? Modify the new yoke to look like that. That will allow them to sit on the bevel gear shaft better and give the grub screw more to bite into. Here is my TLT set up... http://www.scale4x4rc.org/gallery/di...e.php?pos=-336 Hope this helps. dave Last edited by drperez; 05-23-2007 at 10:59 PM. |
