you are right!
it is out of wack..... but it will work fine.
let them know.

run2jeepn 05-24-2007 11:44 PM

It's off just a hair. Won't hurt anything.

clodstall 05-25-2007 06:02 AM

its twisted like that to throw the weight of the motor to the center of the truck.lol

i wouldnt worry about it either.got u-joints.

Thorsteenster 05-25-2007 07:07 AM

if it bothers you too much you could oval the wholes slightly to kick it in a hair but its purely aesthetics, performance wise wont make a difference.

mrpink 05-25-2007 07:20 AM

looks straight... enough.

Hello Terron,

looking at the transmission, the holes certainly must be off a tad, causing the trans to not sit perfectly straight. If you'd like we would be glad to get you a new one made up and sent out free of charge. Just send us a PM or email if you'd like a new skid.

Looks about same as my XRC, and I never had any problems with it. I never even complained, cuz its so little of a thing. I have a super clean XRC for sell, and no one cares that the tranny is a 1/2 degree * off!

terrongregg 05-25-2007 07:27 PM

i was only asking cause when i first started messing around with the nitros if my mounts were off just alittle i would be constantly stripping the gears out i know that the crawlers dont put out torq like that but was just curious if it works with it being a little off thats no prob i was only concerned with it not working

ComingApart 05-25-2007 10:53 PM

The mounting holes in my XRC were off too. Considerably more than yours I would say. I couldn't get any two holes to line up with my R2.
I just shifted the tranny backward and drilled new ones. Problem solved.

dotson 05-26-2007 11:11 AM

yea my pede tranny doesnt sit on ther perfectly.. but its a crawler not a show car so as long as it performs its fine by me.

and as much twisting and turning that it is gonna be doing on the rocks... it probably wouldnt make much diff. anyway as long as the shafts line up with the axles good "thumbsup"

that would bother the hell out of me... seriously it would. im kind of a perfectionist, i use dial calipers and micrometers when building links too, but maybe im just being "a little rediculous"...

dieselfuel 05-28-2007 08:07 AM

call me crazy but i just like better quality out of my crawlers.... the term "good enough" doesnt exist, unless its something i cant possibly do anything about.
