Well I got some more done on the tuber. Thought what the heck I'll try my hand at this brazing fad :-)

As it turns out it's not to hard. The difficult part is brazing straight.

I loved the groundwork that Fathead had built up for me but there where a few things that we ran across that needed to be changed.

Anyhow here is how it's fabed up so far.

Enjoy

good job on the brazing Kae-two it looks like it will work out pretty nice. I have to say I went to St. George this last weekend and went crawling with my son at the same spot we have our comps ans holy sh!t do these things crawl like there is no tomorrow. I was going up stuff that my J2-tt couldn't ever come close to making and I havent even had time to do any tweeking on the tuber yet.. All I can say is if there is anyone who cant silver solder, your not trying hard enough. These things are a blast on the rocks

that is nice. What do you use as far as a heat source? Theres a mini torch I wanted to try and some little rod. I only want to do smaller stuff right now like a bed cage for my k5 thingy. It does look realy light weight. I would defianately use a small brushless motor to keep weight down. You can probably keep it near three pounds from the looks of it lol.

Thanks guys.

I use 1/8" piano wire. It's pretty strong and looks pretty scale on a 2.2.

On the weight your probably right. It's going to be a light build. I'll have to look into a brushless system

As far as a heat source I would use a Smith Mini Torch. They make one for about $130.00 that will take MAP, Oxy-Cet or Oxy-Prop. It's really small and does a wiz bang job.

If you tight on money then at HomeDepot they have a MAP gas self lighting system for like $35.00. That works really well

use 45% or higher silver solder. You can only get it at welding supply stores. Dont buy that crap you buy at lowes or the depot. It will cost around $4.00 a stick which is about 18" long. It takes me about 2 sticks to build a tuber
