Default The Hummer plays trials rig at night.....(56K warning)

Well... since the backyard crawling area was too small to actually go crawling on with the other trucks, I turned it into a trials course. It still needs work, course/track and Hummer but all in all, it a ton of fun to go around all the bumps, logs, bridges and rocks.

Kickass! Looks great!

I'm just sitting here waiting for my steering arm to come in from Hong Kong, and then I'm going to make a trials type course. Unfortunatly the arm wont be here in time for the Green River comp

looks good.

Is it just me or did you throw dirt/mud on the body?

Not sure how it'd get mud on the windows like that.

Looks like it could use some cut BFGs from the Pre-Runner kits.

I bought my F-150 at the LHS for $111 with esc.

Not sure how much shipping is though.

The mud on the inside was from the other night. It was raining and the track/course was quite sloppy. I soon found out that the chassis needs some mud/water protection to keep the crap from loading up on the inside of the tub chassis. I can't seem to find a cover for it although I know Tamiya has offered it as I've seen it before. Just can't locate one and it's not in my manual either.

From the other night:

None. It had the MSC but I pulled it and dropped in a Super Rooster and Integy 55-turn for now. I plan to get a cheaper forward/reverse ESC for it as I really can't see trashing the SR in this rig. This thing will get abused just like my other trucks

I just need to track down a decent/cheap ESC to put into it. Anyone have any good options I should consider? Looking to spend less than $50, needs to be 4-7 cell rated, 16'ish mod motor limit and forward/reverse capable...water proof would be nice but not needed. Ideas?

One that covers the whole chassis. I have seen them on the Hummer/S-10 Tamiya trucks before but am having a hell of a time tracking down a part number.

I have a RV15, and yes it is water proof. But I am not impressed with the ammount of juice it sends for reverse. Doesn't seem to have that much power in reverse. Im running 3000's, 55t in a stampede thats locked. Geared as low as I can with pinion and spur.

Looks like a lot of fun. I've been thinking of doing something similar when the ground thaws.

Default stock treads???

thats a crazy track and truck.....but are you gonna trim the treads?? i trimed mine on an f150 and it works alot better... i also drilled holes in the arm closer to the diff (for the shock to go) and put on longer ballends. it rasies the truck almost 1/2 an inch...
just my 2 cents...good luck with it

I think that youre thinking of the chassis cover on the RTR Hummer. The RTR and the kit don't use the same chassis, so the cover probibly won't fit. Just make ome out of lexan, its easy to fab with.
