Is there a canoe going on this or did I miss something?

Great looking. I dont know if it was in the middle part of the thread where I didnt see, but have you said anything about getting a different front axle? Like the rc4wd one or a bruiser? Might make it look wierd though. Also I dont think bruiser would be good in a comp come to think of it. Dont yell at me guys if I missed it.

cembom - No canoe will be on TINY. Not unless I buy the real deal, then of course a canoe will go on top of that one. It's not officially "Slinky'd" until it has a canoe on top.

For the front axle of TINY, I actually have my own in design. A new version for the rear also. The one I run now was just a prototype idea to see if it would work. So far, so good. The next one won't be using TLT stuff though. It's way too big and weak for my preference. I just need to find someone to fund the manufacture of them

Crash - Yeah, all of you Nor'dern boys gave me crap. Bastards Just because I compete with a canoe on top of my rig, people think they have a right to give me crap.

I did go buggy. I still have Slinky though. I am torn on selling Slinky or tearing it down and rebuilding it the right way. Lately I have been inching back towards the rebuild idea. I have a fresh set of virgin portals that REALLY want to go under Slinky. It's just time.... and money..... and skill... and shop space... and money. Oh wait, I said money already.

Just thought I would give an update:

This last weekend we had our 4th Nor-Cal series event and I was able to actually squeek out a win!! I can't believe it either. Beating out the next opponent by only 3 points, I was able to do what I thought was impossible. I now have new respect for the ability of this rig. I currently don't run dig and saw the dig users just dominating me in the corners, but the stability may have helped me out this time. However, I noticed it isn't as stable as rigs such as Dean's and Brandon's, but it's close.

Here are a couple of pics I took at the end of the day after the carnage and some trail riding. Personally, I love the crumple factor of the panels. Gives it that real world abuse.

Next I tear it down for a little 1.9 tire and wheel combo action shots.

I think you've officially broken the rules. I had no idea that there could be a rig that looked so awesome, and actually perform good at the same time. Im insanely jealous.... Next to Dean's Bruiser, this is my most favorite rig EVER!!

excellent job sam! its challenging to build your own winning comp rig, but to build a winning comp rig that is also a scale rig... thats another story.

Just saw this in the video section, Lance (monterycrawler) took some awesome footage at the last Bean Hollow competition and made a video. If you haven't seen it, it is great. At the very end you will see my rig actually running on course #1 then the very beginning of course #2.

2007/08 Fall/Wint Comp 4 at the Bean

Thanks again Lance for the cool video. If you haven't seen his others from our events, check them out. Always well done.

No updates for now . I am in the process of buying a second home to house the photography studio and our living area, so hobby fun is at a stand still at the moment. I have a comp this weekend and I have a bare chassis sitting on the desk with no time scheduled to build it back up.

All spending on R/C has come to a halt thanks to the sudden limited budget. Hopefully I can put it all together and get some nice shots, but mot likely not with the 1.9s just yet. Sorry.
