OK before I go to work this morning, I thought I would post a little update "thumbsup"

I got my Pede tranny, its locked and ready

I got my TLT axles, I'm going to use them off my other truck till I can get another set to replace them.

The axles have front and rear RCP CVD's, Fat Rock C's, and
I got my aluminum knuckles coming from run2jeepn

I got a JR 9000 for my steering servo

I got a Mamba 25, I'm ordering the Castle Link and HH Crawler motor later on today.

Well thats about it for now, I will try and post pics up a little later "thumbsup"

BTW, this is going to be my first real build"thumbsup"

Any comments, tips and such is much appreciated. I going to need it ;-)

JasonInAugusta 07-01-2007 07:42 PM

First real build?

Sounds like a heckuva start! I don't even have the MIP/RCP CVDs in the rear of my TLT.

I'm slackin'

Oh...where's progress pics?

I took as set of axle apart and locked them tonight.

My frame should be here tomorrow.

slowcrawlin 07-01-2007 10:26 PM

OK here where I am at now, I got my T&E Maxx shocks, TLT axles, Mamba 25, Pede tranny, and my bad a$$ Cobra. "thumbsup"

Now when I got my other truck that these TLT axles came off, it was set-up for 4 wheel steering and the axles still are. Do you guys think I should keep the 4WS or just run front steering?

I really don't plan on entering any comps so far, but that my change once I learn a bit more stuff.

Also the are 3 GP3300's on each axle, do you guys think I should keep it like this or use some other method?

Also I have a set of Ericksons beadlocks with Mashers, but still have to cut the foams for them.

So far that's all I got now, but I will be getting, aluminum knuckles, HH Crawlmaster, and the Castle link kit, this week "thumbsup"

Don't use 4WS on a 2.2.

Get used to driving it with 2WS only. 4WS is a crutch.

I practice driving my super with 2WS only. ;)

"thumbsup" Cobra, what color are you getting.

So those are the batteries I need.

JasonInAugusta 07-01-2007 10:35 PM

I run the 8 cell 1500 packs on my King Bling tuber with mamba 25, OG Revolver and like it.

Pretty easy to make a mounting plate for them too.

My chassis will be black.

slowcrawlin 07-01-2007 10:40 PM

are my batteries any good? or are they just to bulky.

how much did they run ya "thumbsup"

then 2wd it is "thumbsup", I can always go with a dig set-up?

What would you guys recommend for the rear steering lockout?

JIA's Dad 07-01-2007 11:27 PM

I have seen a lot of people using the short links from the steering arm to the post at the pumpkins of the axle. This method works really well for most and is easily made. All-thread and ball ends.

cool, I got plenty all-thread and ball ends, while I'm at making the those I think I'm going to go ahead and start making my links"thumbsup"

I have aluminum tubing and arrows, The arrows are a little bit more rounder.

What would you guys recommend, for the links?

so its pretty easy to make a mount for the batteries, will this kind of mounting plate work on the TLT axles?

Or could I just put the batteries on top of the servo

Well I got to get some sleep, I will talk to you all tomorrow "thumbsup"

BTW Thanks for all the help so far, it is much appreciated "thumbsup" I couldn't do it without you guys, that's for sure :)
