| Mad Dog Tuber Build
Here's my first attempt at building a tuber >>>(virgin).I have never brazed anything before and I thought it would have been a little harder than it actually was.as it sits now it has 2.5 inches of belly clearance at full rest. I am running it as a droop style suspension setup.Don't flame me too hard as the parts on it now are just for a mock-up.It will have an R2 tranny, oil filled shocks(maxx),integy 55t lathe, mamba maxx,tq3 remote.so here are some pics of MAD DOG TUBER....keep in mind it's still in progress!! Nothing wrong with a light chassis as long as it doesn't flex. Looks better than the one I haven't built that's for sure Love your hot sauce |

i recently built my first tuber also,to much fun mini fabbin. Looks good,i would focus on some more triangulation on the chassis, looks kinda frail.Remember the tubers are more than likely goin to tip the scale over 5lbs.to 6 lbs Build it to wreck it,LOL.enjoy

The big difference is the cost of the chassis.I bought an sw2 chassis for around 100 bucks. It did come with link plates though. The cost of this tuber in solid rod was about 4 bucks,a little oxygen/accetylene for the torch, and some brazing rod = about $15.00 + time. But I can say it's well woth it to be able to say that I made the design, fabbed it up,and there's only one like it. |
