Glad to see you kept that sweet lid too

They are saying St George is October 13. Hope you can make it up
If I ever see a chick in a bikini in that water, you guys will be the first to see the pic

I'm planning on coming to St. George. Oct. 13th is perfect. Its the week after the offroad expo, and a Socal doesn't have a comp in Oct.

I'm going to need a whole lot of luck to win in Moab, since I didn't qualify to compete
I'm just going to have fun and be a spectator for a change. I still wanna run the courses afterwards and see how the falcon stacks up against the best in the country.

Its actually a small decorative community pond here in Helendale. Its cool, but not worth the drive. Check out the forums at www.socalrcrc.com for a bunch of great crawl socal crawl spots.

The rig performed amazing at Socal event #2. I managed to pull off a perfect run on course #2, good for a score of -17. That was good enough to tie Dean for 1st on points, but he had the faster time and ended up with the overall win.

I'll be heading to the red rocks of St. George, Utah for UTRCRC's state championships on Oct. 13, so come check out the Falcon and say hi!

Default new pics!

Here's a few pics from my practice run this afternoon.

I finally installed my alloy ring and pinions from RCP, and they're amazing! Much smoother then stock, and the extra weight down low isn't bad either.

I also added another ounce of wheel weight in each tire, and it really seems to keep the rig planted. I even made a few lines that I couldn't clear with my old torsion rig... including the "wall of death" over the water

This is the best rig I have ever ran. It performed flawlessly on the wicked courses the UTRCRC unleashed

Coming soon:
BEC
3s lipo
Better steering servo
MSD rear lockouts

Nice rig and congrats on your win. You drove the heck out of that this past weekend and I cannot think of a better guy to take home the win.

Default Updates for 2008

So since building the Falcon, I've ran in it 4 competitions. The results? 3 wins, one tie for 1st, and one state championship The rig has been working flawlessly, but I needed to make a few changes to stay on top.

I wanted to ditch the bulky stampede transmission, so I decided to try an AX10 trans... and it fits great! Its much smoother/quieter/stronger then the pede, and it saved me a good 4 oz. of sprung weight.

Next on the list was my battery. I've been happily using an 8 cell 2/3AA pack for the last year. Like just about everyone, I wanted more power and runtime. I went with a 3S 900 mah pack. The power is killer, and I'm getting a good 45 minutes out of it. The tiny little lipo saved me another 2 oz. over my old pack.

I've had a few problems with my dig servo binding up, So I added a Castle BEC, problem solved My servos seem much happier, and I can't get the dig to bind, despite my best efforts. I also picked up a set of MSD rear lockouts. They look killer... and eliminate a big weak point on the rear axle

And now, for the best part...
The Losi Grappler Body

To get the body as low as I wanted it, I chopped about a 1/2" off the top of the falcon. The top of the roof sits at just under 6" with 2 3/4 belly clearance. The lower body combined with the lighter rig made a huge improvement. I can crawl straight up climbs that the rig wouldn't even hold before.

Plans for 2008?
Stronger servo
Better radio gear
World domination
