Looking good man, I like the Jeep paintscheme. Have you noticed any difference mounting the tranny with the motor facing the rear of the truck?

I gave up on mine right away. I never got it to shift with the linkage and mount supplied.

No difference what so ever, not evan a hint of torque twist. Still want a little more adjustability in the shocks so I ended up getting some losi threaded shocks. Also got some RCP lockers on the way.

That is good to hear, I am going to order an R2D2 for my daughter's rig. My only concern was having the motor mounted the opposite way, and it sounds like you have no issues with it. Thanks.

The Jeep body definitely looks better than the bug body.Do you have to turn the chassis around when using a R2D2 tranny?Just curious because I'm getting ready to run the same set up as soon as my super sells.

Its as simple as that. There is no clearance for drive shafts the regular way but it performs just as well.

Got the RCP lockers in, great lockers very stout and bonus extra weight right where ya want it. Also installed some losi shocks, another great improvement over stock maxx shocks and I got a little crazy with my rear link mount.

Here are some pics of a new crawl spot I found a couple weeks ago. Nice slick polished river rock with endless crawlin. Enjoy.

Second SoCal comp next week and I know I'm ready now.

I am very happy with this rig and set up. Second comp and I went from middle of the pack last comp to 4th out of 53, not a bad turn around. For anybody still thinkin about the R2D tranny, it's a no brainer, get one or get left behind. I think half the feild was usin some kind of DIG set up.

Yeah, I noticed that. It seams that unless you're running a dig you really don't have a chance at the top. Some of the courses at the comp had some tough spots where a dig would come in handy. I'm definitely putting one on mine.

Have not updated the progress of this rig in a couple comps so here it is. The SW3 is holding up great(a 2nd and 1st place finish last two comps). Since the second comp(way back in September) the only thing I have had to replace is the rear diff, the stocker tlt one finally stripped out. Thank you RCP for another locker.

I did beef up the steering alot with new links and servo so now it turns with authority, the 645 up front was just to week for me, but it works great on the R2D. This thing is way predictable now, almost drives itself.

Picked up a new Losi body and some Ace's doughnuts from RCP last friday at "Fight Night" and thought I'd give em a try. Also added a little more weight to the front and rear wheels to get them to sit a little better.

that body looks really good. do you seem to have trouble with the r2d binding with the linkage like that? I am stumped on how to get mine to work right.

Thanks for the comments. I do get some binding with the R2D if it locked and pointed downhill. I can usually free it without backing up, its touchy though. The linkage moves fine, I have bent mine to get a better through.

The spaztix chrome I was using on the body was bad so it promptly flaked off the first time I hit some rocks. So round two with the body. Decided to go with blue flame instead of the Heat Miser hairdoo look. I think it came out a better.

Got to test the Ace's doughnuts a couple times between rain and they are a great improvement over the stock foams, along with the added weight they hooked up on alot of lines I could not do in the past at my local spot.
