Default My SW3 comp rig

SW3 chassis
XRC's HC links and some of my own
Home made servo/link plates
Losi shocks
RCP CVD's and axle-c's up front
RCP lockers fr. and rr.
RC4WD narrow beadlocks
RC4WD R2 disconnect
Revolver2 for brawn
Mamba Max for brains
Losi rock clawz
and yes the worst thing of all an HPI Bug body.

Decided to go back to the four link. To much screwin around last year with other set-ups did me no good. So I decided on the SW3.

Drives like a charm. I have put this chassis through alot a different configs and this one seems to work well. I am hopin for the R2 disconnect to show up this week but I think I will be pushin it to have it in and workin by the first comp this weekend.

Looks good Something I have noticed is that everyone runs there top links at the bottom hole of the SW3 or in the middle hole, I have mine set at the top as I thought it kept the links more parallel...Is there an advantage to running them that way?

Looks sweet, other than the bug body :-P. Sometimes it's best to do a reset and start over with experimentation. That's what I did on my "2".

Mike, on my SW2 I found that having the upper links flat allowed a little torque twist to rear it's ugly head. Not bad, just on steep off camber climbs. Having them slope down a little from the axle to the chassis was better. I don't know if this applies to the SW3 or not. I imagine it would but that is my opinion.

I am using 2 cell Li-Po by Impulse Power. It's 7.4V,1320mAH. It's got good power and last's awhile.

Same principle applies to the sw3's.

Nice rig. You definetly made the right choice by switching to a 3, you won't be disapointed!

Some updates on the R2D. Got the tranny today and realized it would not fit in my SW3. Buuuuuttt by flipin the chassis around I was able to install pretty easy. Thanks Bender for makin a symetrical chassis. Looks kinda weird but it's workin.

No room for the lathe motor with this set-up so I went back to the
Crawlmaster.

I'm guessing we will see more of that exact same setup at Moab this year. I know I have a twin, down to the same tires.

Thanks, I put a 12t pinion in it today and I am really happy with it. Seems to work very well. Hoping to test it some today but have a feelin the true test will be tomorrow at SoCal's series opener.

Nice looking rig. Glad to see you found a way to make the R2 with dig work.

Well it was a good thing and a bad thing takin an un-tested rig to it's first comp. Things learned: 1.Axle-C's and rear straight lock outs make your rig 1/8" over 12.5. 2.RC4WD's servo mount kit for the R2D sucks, sometimes it worked but mostly not, angle is to extreme. 3.Crawlmaster motor also sucks because it cogs out way to much(I wasn't the only one havin issues) and 4. Rock claws are great but I deffinatly needed to star the foams for more purchase.

Overall it performed well, middle of the pack well anyway. I have since starred the foams, switched back to my revolver 2, fixed the R2D to where it works flawlessly and shortend my front links by 1/8". Its workin great now and I have a month drive time to get used to it before the next one. Overall a great rig.

I'd like to check that setup out at the next comp. I'm the one with the black PTI (will be a dark purple next time though).

Startin to drive real nice now that I have had some time behind the wheel. The R2 disconnect has been working flawlessly and I decided to ditch the bug body and go back to a jeep body I got with my first crawler over a year ago, glad I hung onto it. Here are some recent action shots.
