Yes, I was trying to resize to help save space. I think they're better now.

The one between the knuckles is a Monster GT stock front steering turnbuckle and the one from the servo to knuckle is a Ti.

Default Testing new battery location

In an effort to help relieve chassis roll under heavy loads and to help with steep climbs, I've tried running a different battery mounting location.

It works GREAT!!! I saw other small crawlers running their batteries up front, I also do this on my Jugg, and gave it a try. The splitting of the saddles between the front axle (climbing) and the right side (chassis roll) do the trick. I also tried running the stock TLT pack up front but that unloaded the rear tires too much and caused problems decending.

THANKS rckjeep!!! That really means alot to me. I saw your rig in a couple of r/c mags. The rccrawler window decal help me find this site. The spare driveshaft on the body idea was inspired by your rig, which I've used.

Thanks for getting me HOOKED on crawling!!!

The spacers are 1/4" x 1/4" #6 aluminium spacers from the hardware store. I use various length #6 spacers on all my trucks, they are perfect for 3mm screws.

You are welcome, ya I need to mount my spare shaft on MRV. I need to send in some pics of my buggy to see if I can get a write up on it or something. We'll see.

Default Bevel gears clicking!!

I never had this problem with the stock trans (cause it sucks!!) but the new low gear trans I've made is causing the rear axle to click!! I thought my homemade trans was going out but after I saw my driveshafts turning but not my wheels I realized the rear axle was at fault.

When I opened it up, there was wear on the axle output bevel and the diff ring. I used an axle shim from my T3 between the output bevel and bearing next to it. This pushes the bevel into the diff ring better and improves gear mesh. This works GREAT!! I suggest this be done to ALL TLT axles.

No more clicking!!!

Default Stretched to 12.5"

I've been wanting to stretch Buster's WB all the way to 12.5" for a while now. I thought it would call for new rear shock/link mounts but Rich gave me an idea after I saw his TXT Sunday @ D&D. It's not the same as his but it got me thinking.

I squeezed a couple of long RMP ball ends from my T3 stuff and swapped my 96mm upper links with my 86mm lowers and replaced the uppers with REVO 106mm pushrods. This gave me that extra 3/8" I needed all to the rear, BIG help with the vert.

They're universal bodymounts. I like the HPI posts but my LHS was out. So Mitch gave me these white nylon ones.

Thanks for the comments!!!!

HPI posts out-of-stock?...fixed that problem. I use those as well, so I had Mitch order extra. I picked up 2 pr. a week or so ago, out of the 6 or 8 pr. that he's going to try and keep in stock now.

I used some kydex scrapes. It's easy to cut and you just heat it with a lighter or heatgun bend to desired shape.

Default Buster Goes on Vacation !!

I go back east to Pittsburg every summer to see my family. This year we planned a road trip from there to New Hampshire to see more relatives. Nice crawling up there.
