Depends how much you want to spend. Kit itself is anywhere from $120 to $140. Motor is $26-60 depending on the brand, and type. Radio and ESC can be from $70 to $350, or even up to $500 if you run multiple channels, two servos, that kind of thing. Then batteries, from $20 to $80.

All in how much you want to invest.

If you plan on extending the wheel base of the TLT, which if you're looking at the TXT as well, it sounds like you want to, the conversion is going to cost somewhere from $60-100 depending on if you have some shocks laying around, if you are willing to fab your own links, dog bones or sliders, that kind of thing....

Thinking about it... honestly, I would say, do you want to go big or do you want to go scale-ish? In the end you might spend just as much money on each. If you decide you want double motors in your TLT, you'd have to upgrade your ESC, unless you were to buy a motor that can handle two, but that's what you would be buying if you got the TXT. Having said that, your tire/wheel options are going to be alot cheaper for the TLT. Also, there are atleast two companies working on extended chassis kits for the TLT, that's PRP and TTR.

What exactly do you want to do with your truck? Are you looking for something to thrash around the yard and the occasional rock pile, strictly rocks, hill climbing, or..?

Hahahaha.... me? other things? No... this is my first solid axle... Actually second, but my first one was even smaller, it was a 1:24 scale. It was part of an engineering project at school, I was originally going to make my own axles as well, but then this was released, and for the money (compared to aluminum axles) it was better.

I think I agree though. TXT is going to be more versatile for you. It is more capable out of the box and you can go alot more places. And this is right when you buy it, as opposed to bringing it up through mods.
