Don't forget Fat Rock axle C's. Do you run a slipper? I can't remember. What's with the zip ties on the front springs? Never noticed that before. She's a thing of beauty and a serious arse kicker. The red body really looks good man. EDIT: Oh, and big thumbs up for making your battery pack with a Tamiya plug. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 10-03-2007 at 11:47 AM. |

The C's are actually from a company in Thailand, as are the rear lockouts. I've been helping them with R&D on their products. I do run a slipper on the Pede. The front suspension is partial droop now. I ziptie the springs to the cups to keep them in place. I'll probably end up gluing them there if I stick with that set-up. Tamiya connectors for life!! Actually they may be getting ditched shortly.

Looks great. I always loved you builds and studied them closely. :-) What was the reason you are useing a brushed motor again ? Isnt that setup heavier than BL ? Pete |

This set-up is a little heavier, but the low speed throttle control is awesome. My brushless set-up has been acting a little weird lately. The settings got wiped out of my Mamba 25. I re-programmed it to the proper settings, but it's just not the same as it was. I'm constanly trying new set-ups, so I'm not done with brushless. But, for now I'm happy with how this set-up is working. Thanks, I've been eyeing those R2D trannies more and more lately.

Looks good Curious as to why you run a trashy 645 servo?

As usual your builds are well thought out and thoroughly tested, but i have to ask, why do you run just a 645 servo? I run 5955's in all my trucks and even then i find i need more power in some cases. Do you run a voltage reg. to it? Also curious on what spur/pinion combo you are running.

Thanks for the compliments guys. That servo will be ditched shortly. I've got a servo regulator for it now, I just need to figure out what servo I want to upgrade to. Quote:
I had the straight links on during nats. I was having flexing issues with the rear high clearance links after a while, so I went back to straight rear lowers. Quote:

I just used standard rattlecan paint from the LHS, it's bright red, backed in black. Thanks again guys.

Brad, my daughter won a set of those axle "C"s at one of our comps for taking 2nd place. I noticed that hers are machined without any offset top to bottom, they are symmetrical. As the knuckles have one kingpin post that is taller than the other, I had issues with the knuckle binding when steering. Have you noticed this, or are yours machined with the knuckle offset in mind? Truck looks.........killer! |
