| First Tuber Build
I got bored yesterday and went to the shop and spent a couple of hours there working on my first ever tube chassis. There is a lot of things that need to be done but this is just the start. It might take a little while to finish but I will keep you all posted. (Like you all really care). I want to make this a rock runner/basher. I want it to be able to crawl but I would like to have some wheel speed as weel. I am looking to but a brushless with mamba 25. I am going to use TLT axles and a pede tranny. The chassis was build around the pede and seems to be pretty strong. I stood on it last night, and I am about a 190lbs. Last edited by Tuffone; 10-16-2007 at 10:56 AM. |

Awesome first tuber. Looks way better than my first tuber. Nice build. What brazing materials did you use? If it was Safety Silv what diameter wire are you using? I still dont know how people manage to braze nuts to the frame. I dont have the patience for that craziness...

I used 6011 welding rod, and welded it. it is very strong. I have put my full weight on it. i am going to braze it to clean it up a bit. I need to build some panels for it now.

Yeah, welding rods were all I had. I didn't even go to the shop thinking about making a tuber though. I am going to stop by and get some copper to braze any holes that I might have around the welds. Just to make it pretty.
