I didnt mean to imply that you or anyone else used "my" link setup because its not mine. Like you said 1to1 rigs have been runnin it for years. I just wanted to show that the GC-1 wasnt the first crawler to run a triangular lower link setup

To answer youre question, it weighs about 2oz with the battery tray, skidder,rx mount and 2 cross braces. Its not the same chassis as the one in the pic but an improved version I ran at nats.

close but not quit, I had both chassis, and kept the GC-1.

unless you run equal length links with the uppers forward of the center line of the front axle, you still wont have a GC-1. There are other differences too, such as link separation on the uppers and lowers and location on how far the links are mounted on the lowers on the chassis on a GC-1.

Don't get me wrong, the SW3 is a great chassis along with the SW2 which I ran for a long time. But the GC-1 is a different animal all together.

Thats not an issue you just made the statement the GC1 wasn't the first.
I have never seen your rigs or a GC1, but everyone that reads this post
will think I copied the GC1. I'm happy to see you post up your truck to
show others it's a common setup. Are you sure About that weight?

Thanks Rick-

I wasn't trying to make it into a GC1. I just wanted it to be different than
my SW2. I mounted the upper links shorter so it wouldn't be a (GC1 want to
be). I bought a GC1 from syco133 on this site 10/25/07 I paid with paypal
but it was a e-check and it took 4 days to clear. He sent me a pm and said
no problem when it cleared he would ship and pm me tracking info. I have
sent him 4 pm's for the last 4 days he doesn't respond. I think he was a
vendor on here. I'm hoping things are ok.

No lie on the weight, the bare chassis is 2oz. Its made from .050 & .030 aluminum sheet and ties into the pede tranny to get its rigidity.

WOW! that is a light chassis. I think I saw where my son drove it in
one of your Comps. That was cool of you to let him. I need to get one
of your alum. steering shafts for my Sensor. Are you still making them?
Let me know.

Thanks Rick

Yes I let Grover drive my car at one of the washington comps and he kicked my tail with it too And yes on the sensor steering shafts, you can go to the nomadio site and get a pay-pal addy.

Default Trying different Body

I have a few old bodies that I'm trying on the SW3. I like the
real truck bodies. How's this Reg Cab Chev look?

Who is this Rick guy you keep thanking?

That looks good. I like the trucks too, mainly the Toyota Tundra from Parma, but the bugs work so good.

Do you have the front the same way? Have you thought about moving the lower links inside the chassis
and using a spacer to bring them closer together? I think you will like the articulation better.

I did not mean you would have more flex. The articulation smoothness
is what I was talkin about. Your Chassis just floats in the middle of you
links with the triangular setup.

I think I am going to try this link setup out, on a new truck I will be building, I want to see how it stacks up to my conventional(sorta...actually different than any other I've seen)SW3. I like what you are describing Rick.

That was cool, I like how your chassis doesn't move much, and the axles do the work, reminds me of how my '56 CJ5 I had used to work. I'll admit it, I'd be worried competing against you

Very nice, looks like it's pretty much dialed in.
