are you going to run 3 batteries in the rear tray and 3 in the front? i used to crawl with a penguin chassis. i set my batteries up with 4 on the top of the front tray and 2 below the front tray. i did that to get the weight more foward. the batteries underneath are held up by the velcro strap, and they cleared the driveshafts. as far as soldering the batteries, buy the battery bars used to make packs. you will need some good quality 12 or 10 gauge silicone wire. and i hope you have a good soldering station, not one of those 10 watt pencil irons. if you don't, buy a hakko or weller station with a thermostat. it may be expensive, but it will last you a lifetime with proper maintennence, and save a lot of frustration. |

Shane, We have a weller soldering station, and I have been building battery packs for a long time. When you are ready let Dean know and I'll show you how to do it. Do you have cells yet? If not go here Battlepacks.com Steve has everything you'll need at great prices, plus he'll zap them for you for free. Brian |

If you want TONS of info on the penguin chassis, there is a 50 page long thread on one18th titled my "new monster" by ronbeck. There are 3 or 4 people that respond to that thread regularly that run those chassis'.
