| The Wife's 2.2 is done.....
Well for now the Wife's 2.2 is done. BTW she designed the girlie paint scheme..... So quit staring at my wifes flowers! ** Onto the Specs ** 12 3/8" WB. 2 3/8" GC - I think it needs to be taller. Pede Tranny laying down with 90T spur/18T pinion. Pede Sliders, rear extended. steel traxxas yokes. 55T Integy Lathe. Super Rooster. Custom 7.2V 3000 mah NiMH battery for now.... Custom hand cut and filed chassis ... What a PITA! Stampede shocks up front, TLT shocks outback with no oil or seals. BlueBird Servo with saver All the differentials locked with a hot glue gun. Narrowed Pede Wheels with 2.2 Mashers and rcjeep rock rings. 2 channel Controller. For the future I'm planning on getting a smaller battery pack, shave the axles, make a belly skid plate, and probably raise it up a bit. Oh and drive it on some real terrain; It hasn't even been out of the garage so far.... So how did I do for giving the Wife my first Shafty.... Last edited by 4RnrRick; 06-05-2008 at 11:00 AM. |

Well actually I let the Wife drive my Clod one day and she said "Don't tell your friends but this is fun, can you make me one?" then shortly after that comment she broke it! Plus at that time I was already wanting to build a 2.2 to compete in ORCRC so I told the wife I was building it for her and she could design the paint as long as I could use it and she quit breaking my clod..... Oh I did forget to mention that its actually Purple, but the camera makes it look Blue. |

the low ground clearance may not be an issue for you. my TLT is just about as low as yours and it just slides right over stuff. give it a try before you raise it up.

Problem is that with the rear shocks right now I just don't think I have enough down travel to help keep the tires on the ground when I'm dragging the belly.

I'd have to disagree with that.... Most rockcrawling 1:1 vehicles ride with only 25% of up travel and 75% down travel. Articluation is based on range of motion of the suspension, not the resting point of the shocks. I've found with the RC's that I can't seem it it much past the resting point being 75% up travel and 25% down travel..... |

Thats an awesome looking truck! I am in the process of building one like that, 60/40 set up is what i am trying for. I have the chassis drawn up, but dreating cutting it out by hand. Do the axles move side to side with the upper links set up like you have them? That is a great idea supporting the tranny through the pivot rod holes.
