Fat Dog Well I got myself a Fat dog tuber a few weeks back. It just got back from powder coat today. It's a transparent yellow green over the top of chrome. The pics just don't do the color justice. Still trying to decide what I am going to do for body panels. I have been tossing around the idea of carbon fiber. Specs as of now TLT axles cvd's in front Airtronics 94357 with metal gear set 8-32 links sleeved with carbon fiber arrow shafts Pede tranny with Integy 55turn MSD beadlocks Rock Claws Still in the future Add 1/2" to rear links Brushless setup Dig bigger servo http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3411.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3412.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3413.jpg |
Wow, sure is purty!"thumbsup" |
Nice, I love that color! I like that rear upper link mount, so simple and clean looking. Nice touch on PC'ing the upper link mounts."thumbsup" |
i like your rear link mount. simple and clean "thumbsup". nice color too. |
Ok guys I need help! I asked my wife but she was no help. I am getting ready to cut the lexan and am trying to figure out how I want to do the body panels. I am leaning towards the top pic. Also what do you think I should do about the area under the hood? One other option I am thinking is bringing the roof down a little further kinda like a visor. Please post your thoughts. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3416.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3417.jpg |
I like the side panel in the top pic, and definitely bring the roof down like a visor, would be much better IMO.;-) |
Love the color! I personally like the panels better on the 1st set "thumbsup" |
that is 1 sweet looking tuber man... I also think you should bring the roof panel down like a visor too..."thumbsup" |
Garbage... Looks great, you can also make a panel to go under the rear shock mounts and definitely do visors on top front and rear;-) |
I like the first option, and I say bring the roof panel down a bit and make the visor. I knew I should have bought one of these :-x |
Got body panels done tonight. I was thinking of using lexan but instead I went with sheet metal. I was looking around at homedepot and saw the metal signs like the ones that say no parking or no trespassing. Thought they would work good so I got one and cut it up then covered both sides with carbon fiber vinyl. I am very happy with how it turned out I just need to get more black zip ties since I ran out. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3439.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3440.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3441.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3442.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3443.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3444.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3445.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3446.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/IMG_3447.jpg |

that rig is a beauty"thumbsup" |
Thanks for all the complements. |
just my opinion but you might want to check your skid clearance. You should want at least 2.5" of skid clearance. I run 2.6" of clearance and only rub on a couple of the obsticals that Naz-T and Bob had set up at the last free crawl we had out at Blackrock. which is where the next comp is .... But I agree that is a sweet rig...:) |
That looks so f'n sweet"thumbsup" I need one! What the deal are they still making them and if so who's best to contact about it? |
WOW sweet rig! what did you make the reak link mount from? looks great. what is your skid clearence at? please post some video. |
The rear link mount I designed and built. The ground clearance is at about 1.5". I am afraid it might be to low, but I am not gonna change it till I drive it and see how it does. |
