Upper links look fine, they will rotate rear pinion up for better driveshaft clearance and rotate the front just right so you can wiggle the front end over. Looks like a good start. Motor: try the Integy V10 handwound either 50t or 55t. |

Cool truck. Did you make those links? I think theres an online store I want to associate links with besides Extreme. I think Bender has refered them but it is totally lost right now. I may need some links for my sw3 too and I think Hc delrins would be cool. Did you get the r2 with disconnect?

Just a quick thought, and Tanis chime in here if you want. The RC4WD tranny steering kit is...well...not so good. You'll do better mounting your servo behind the tranny where you can get a straight throw at the disconnect actuator rod. The kit puts it at a pretty nasty angle that will cause it to bind up, or to even bend the rod depending on the servo you use. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...SW3#post954779 And I agree with Tanis, use the V10 50t or 55t and a 15t pinion seems to work best with it, but you'll need to "massage" the opening to get it to fit through the hole! |

I agree with PaloaltoK5, if you can get your linkage for the disco as level as possible, it will engage/disengage better, as it is pushing/pulling straight, instead of on an angle. What I do for getting a bigger pinion on, is put it in the other side of the tranny and stick the end with the setscrew out the motor side, then put it on the motor. It usually takes a couple of tries to get the pinion exactly where you want it on the shaft though. Massaging the opening would be easier(why didn't I think of that), good tip man |
