Nice. I started crawling with a txt. Biggest problem I always had was power! Now I have lipo's. Let us know how you like that Cobalt 10T....very interested.

| With the 10t and 9.6+ volts power is not an issue. I'm running an 8t pinion in it and I might gear up a little. |

If anyone was wondering if a Cobalt 10t has enough torque here's your answer. I was messing around tonight fine tuning it. I grabbed the front wheel and put it into reverse from a dead start and it easily flipped the crawler over. I grabbed the rear and it started to flip it over and then...broken axle shaft yeah, I'm an idiot. Anyway, after running it for a while yesterday and that torque test I'm convinced, anyone running a txt should have that motor.

For sure, even only on 8cell it is plenty, on 11.1v it's stupid power. |

| Actually it was the axle shaft not the drive, my mistake The axle shaft probably is the weakest link on it, I might go cvd's if it happens during normal driving. I have broken them before on a clod so luckily I had a spare sitting around.

It did really quite well at the comp about a week ago. I took a third with it. That being said, it was driving me nuts, asthetically I just wasn't happy with it and after seeing PinchFlat's there I had to do something about it. Here's the start. New specs, K2-3S chassis Same axles but CVD's are coming Droop w/ internal springs and 100 wt oil Axial narrow beadlocks, "What, they are narrowed already? Sold!" Losi 420 Series King Pins Hopefully Axial transmission, beefed up with HR Hardened alloy gears and alloy case, a slipper and probably VF dig a little ways down the road I'm just trying to figure out the drive shaft stuff. I might get the 6mm adapters from RC4WD but I would like to have a 6mm output made for the Axial Tranny Last edited by Just Zach; 03-16-2008 at 11:48 PM. Reason: add specs |

Looking good Zach. I'm liking the low profile with those tires, I bet they would hook up pretty good out on the slick rock here in CO also.

Thanks. The tires seem to hook up around here really well. Mostly slick rock stuff. The top of the chassis sits at the same height as the top of the tires. About 3.25" clearance droop, almost 4.5 extended. I'm inbetween coats of paint right now. |

Looks good JZ, I really like the looks of those tires. With how low your chassis sits you should have killer CG.

| The 6mm adaptors are nicely made and beefy. That's what I use on my Area 51 TXT. The 6mm outputs would be killer, but if you don't get them made you won't be disappointed with the RC4wd parts.

I did just get an email from Don at VF and he said that they are going to make 6mm outputs but they are a ways out. So, my final setup should be a VF dig with 6mm outputs. | |

Its running I got off of work early today and went to it. I was going to use the Super Rooster but without Lipo cutoff I was afraid I was going to kill a lipo so I picked up what else but a Tekin FX-R. Only the best esc yet. Its running really well already and the tires seem pretty good but that's hard to test in my front yard. I do think I need some memory foams, they seem a little firm right now. The COG is awesome, the only thing above the tires is about 1/4" of battery. Right now I am running no wheel weight and it didn't seem to be an issue. Onto the pics |

| 15 7/8" is the wheelbase. Drive shafts I hope will be alright, I have a slipper, and if they don't hold up I will put the other shafts back on with some RC4WD 5mm-6mm adapters I picked up. Its purposely really light for a super too, hopefully that helps out some with durability.
