Default Metal tranny gears

Simple question...does anyone know if there are metal tranny gears available for the txt-1 tranny?

I haven't seen metal tranny gears. RC4WD sells Delrin gears..... http://rc4wd.com/shop/product_info.p...roducts_id=688

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see a real need or justification for metal gears.

With Revo shafts the metal stub axles end up breaking first.

WORD.........why spend the dough on metal internals? Delrin gears might be a kewl option over stock though. I run stock TXT gears in the F/X custom tranny, haven't had any trouble other than stripping a spur. Would rather have a "cushion" somewhere to avoid bigger damage elsewhere.

I agree with everyone else, absolutely no need for it. I've been beating on my existing set of tranny gears with full bearings since day one, for about 4 years now, I've never had a problem. Plus, the TXT kit comes with a complete set of replacement gears for the tranny.

It would probably give you some glitching problems as well, because of all the metal on metal contact.

This truck is still pretty much stock setup but the factory gears have stripped twice. By stock i mean suspension, it has evx/titans blue chassis locked diffs beefed up shocks aluminum cants. This rig is used for light crawling and more hill climbing. Lots of moutains in montana but surprisingly few rocks near by

Hmmm..... I ran an EVX with dual motors for a while too, without any problems. :?

Are you running bearings?

The only time I've seen a TXT gear get munched was at Green River when someone's (who shall remain nameless, right RCAlloys? ) pinion/spur mesh was lost and the pinion munched the input gear.

Other than that, solid.
