Portal axle steering and strength questions. . . . . .

Im considering fitting the portal axles on my super tuber and before i spend my hard earned coin i was after some opinions regarding reliability and steering. Has anyone had strength issues with internal gears breaking and with the steering side of things do they have a good turning circle? I found the modified standard swivel hubs and axles had way more steering lock than the RC4WD alloy steering knuckles which was surprising and dont want to lose the steering i currently have:shock:. Or is there a set of axles available to increase the steering angle even more????????? Any info much appreciated.:lol::lol:

All ive heard about the portals was people were breaking them. This was about 8-10 months ago, so i dont know if they have changed their design since then. I met up with a few people that were crawling, and one of the guys running the 2.2 portals on his truck had just broken 2 of the 4. He also went on to comment about his super, he had them on a clod, and he had broken the gearset in one on his front steps.

Also, at a couple comps, i saw 2 people running those portals, one set on a clod, and one set on a TXT. Both drivers broke a portal on the same course. One broke a gearset....... and the other was frustrated and kicked his super and it popped the stubshaft clean off the bottom gear of the portal. All my experience with them is 2nd hand, so hopefully someone who runs them will lend some help.
