| PinchFlat's K2-3s Dust Guppy Reborn TXT Build
Yep, I'm going to start on another competition super rig (Go Team RCC). I know, I know, super are dying, know one runs supers, blah, blah, blah, I have heard it all... Well I am still going to build a super, so STFU girls and witness THE REBIRTH OF THE DUST GUPPY!!! You know you're going to be next. So this time around I think I will use these TXT axles I have laying around... Yes TXT, many of you know ALL my past Supers, all the previous Dust Guppy supers, have been Clod based... time for something new. Here is a Spec (So Far) list: CHASSIS: Reign Products K2-3S Chassis AXLES: TXT Axles (locked, Sealed Bearings, CVDs) TRANSMISSION: Stealth trany, with spool (probably 87/14 gearing - I'LL probably blow it up regardless) SHOCKS: Traxxas Big Bore Aluminum Shock w/internal springs (gonna try a droop set up) WHEELS & TIRES: Not sure what I will use yet. I have some Pro-Line Badlands, some Pro-line Mulchers, and max Mashers. (I want to stay with a max sized wheel so maybe even Losi Super King Pins) ESC: Rooster Crawler for now but possible Castle Creations Mamba Max or Tekin FX-R in the future MOTOR: Integy 55t lathe (or a *cough* free *cough* cobalt 10t from HolmesHobbies hint hint hint.. JK) RADIO: Spektrum DX3R SERVOS: Hitec Robotics HS5990TG in front, Tower Pro in rear (for now) BATTERY: MaxAmps 4000HV, 5000HV, or 6000HV 2c (most likely goto a 3cell when I make the MM ESC switch) Here are a few picks so far: I fabbed a brace from some delrin to help out with supporting the stealth tranny. More coming soon. -PF Last edited by PinchFlat; 06-29-2008 at 09:47 AM. |

I'm on a mission... Bring back the shafty super. BTW guys... feel free to school me in super shafty knowledge... This shafty super stuff is all new to me. I'm just treating this like a giant 2.2 build. Last edited by PinchFlat; 02-25-2008 at 11:30 PM. |

| I basically shrunk my TXT down when I designed the OG SW chassis. Treating this build like a plus sized 2.2 is a good approach IMO.

Looking good Pinchypoo. I can't wait to get my shafty and start working with it. I have no knowledge of them but treating it as a big 2.2 makes sense to me |

Ya know, I've been kicking the idea of building my Team RCC super as a Maxx wheeled shorty. A couple times I've thought of using either my TXT axles or some WK axles. I'm so glad to see that you are doing this, now I've just got to decide between Clod or shafty. Any idea on the WB yet Pinch? 14er? maybe 16er? |

Looks good. I am still unsure about what I am going to do as well. TXT axles keep crossing my mind though |

Forgot this shot of the droopys installed. I made the links up out of 1/4", .049 wall aluminum tube. It so happens that an M4 grub screw self taps nicely (or socket head screw and I cut off the head after I screw it in the tube). (Now that's a good tip. That is how I used to make all the links for the v2 & vPrime Chassis back in the day. I still make my steering links this way.) So what body? Grapler? Old School CJ-8? Bug? I think Grapler.
