Hello everybody, new to the forums here but not new to rc. I have a TXT1 and am tired of the stock steering setup. I did a search but couldnt really find what I wanted. I know there is some sort of mod out there to put the servos on the axels or behind the axels. I would like to know how to do this and how much fabricating is involved. If there is another thread on this subject maybe you could direct me toward it. Thanks!

I have a carbon fiber servo mount behind the axle on mine... I believe that it was made by Xreme Carbonfiber, or something like that. If you search on Yahoo for a Juggernaut servo mount you should find them... good luck, nice yellow by the way.

Thanks! I did a search and found a carbon fiber servo mount for the clod but there are no pigs of it. Do you have a pic of your setup that I could see? Is the clod setup compatible with the TXT axle?

Jmz6, I saw that thread after I posted, my search did not find that thread for some reason. That mount looks very strong, I may try making one or finding someone to make some for me. Thanks guys

roktoy, where do your upper links mount to your axle? I see some sort of aluminum block up there now, did you do some sort of 3 link?

Typical double-triangulated 4-link with the top links attached to the top block.

Nice rig, should look sweet when its done. So I'm working on changing out all my rod ends to the revo ones and also going to install the revo driveshafts. Also looking to do the steering conversion. Just waiting for some parts.

Ok well I got the steering switched to behind the axle. The front works very nicely, (I put on jeepernick's mounts). But the rear mount puts the servo in the way of the upper link. I dont really know what to do other than remake the mount. Any ideas? I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Here at regular ride height its ok.

But then with just a little articulation it hits the link.

What do you think?

Well I tried switching it so that the servo is mounted under the plate but it still hits the link.

as Roktoy suggested slightly bend the link, just enough so it will clear

Or I would just install spacers on the upper links. but it could "jack" the link geomotry up... if there is any

I installed some spacers between the servo and the mounting plate. That dropped the servo and it barely hits the link now. However the servo is really low now, almost in the way of things and it make take some hits on rocks. If I bent the link, wouldnt that also mess up the geometry?

im not sure how badly it would mess with your geometry if any... try it and you maybe able to just take out the spacers

with the spacers in can you attach all your steering (horn links ect) and make it work?

maybe I had my upper links mounted higher on my chassis, because mine worked

sure you will figure it out, all part of the hobby
