Well I got my new TXT and rebuilt it.(it was all ready modifyed some). It is completly stock except for 9- tooth pinions and I narrowed the front wheels lastnight. I will show the complete build up of this truck in this thread. Enjoy :)
This to this.

Where'd you get the beadlock rings? They look good. ;)

mike 07-29-2005 02:53 PM

The rings actually came with the truck when I bought it. so I'm not shure where they came from. They have a small "P" symbol on the outer edge though.

Does anyone know of a good metal ball end? I've been ripping the stock links apart like crazy. :)

mike 07-30-2005 04:34 PM

I took it out for a ride today after work.
At the bottom of the hill.

The hill is about a 45* angle and side hills to the right alittle if you couldn't tell. :)

Shortly after this I blew a rear drive shaft. Good thing I have a few extras. :)

mike 07-31-2005 03:40 PM

Well i was trying not to, but couldn't stop myself. I started to modify it today.
I installed a gd-600 with a paramax v600 motor. The GD has a 9-tooth pinion (for now) and the motor has a 22- tooth pinion. And turn the tranny backwards.

For the suspension to articulate without binding i has to lengthen and bend a upper link.
http://tinypic.com/9r3m29.jpg
My crawl ratio is 118.29:1 now. A little high, but I'm going to get a 12-tooth, witch should give me a 88.75:1 crawl ratio. perfect.:)

Oh, i also added some pink zip ties.

JasonInAugusta 07-31-2005 08:34 PM

For ball ends I use Kyosho 6.8mm parts...on everything!

They'll fit the stock 4mm threads on the TXT links.

mike 07-31-2005 09:11 PM

Sweet, thanks. :)

mike 08-03-2005 07:50 PM

Well today I removed the bumper and lowered my bodey down about 1". Then I mest with the gearing some more. I replaced the 9-thoth pinion on the GD with a 12-tooth. Then I took it to my favorite crawl spot for some testing.

The 88.75:1 crawl ratio, and the lower COG gave the greatest imrovement so far. :)

mike 08-04-2005 12:10 PM

Well I broke the rear diff spider gear carrier.

So I just went ahead and locked both diffs with JB Weld. I also narrowed the rear rims while i was at it.

Ya it's really fun. But there is much to be desired in performance.

I know. This is my second TXT build up. I am just waiting for the parts to finish it up. ;-)

mike 08-07-2005 02:39 PM

Well the TXT grew 2 inches today. I started to tear it down to finsh it up today and then my SR arrived so I put it back to gether half done so I could run it. I'm still need to make all new links and redisign the 4 link geomitry, make servo mounts, reposition the shocks, Cean up the chassis and paint it, and paint the new courier body.

It now has a 15" wheel base. It will be 16 1/2".

I cut the top of the chassis off and remounted all the electroncis lower.

The tray swings oren to replace the battery.

Kev808 08-18-2005 03:23 AM

Lookin' good... by the way are you using foams in your lst's?

mike 08-18-2005 04:44 PM

No I'm not running foams in them. But I think that they would do better with some hacked up foams though.

I'm going to get the pic of the finished frame up tomarrow. :)

mike 08-18-2005 07:50 PM

Mike's cousin here! Here are his finished chassis pic's. :) He heated up the chassis then bent it cleand all the cut marks up and painted it. Then ha fabed up a lower tranny mount out of 3mm angle aluminum for it. :)
