TXT tranny

Is the trans that comes with the TXT stock a 1 or 2 speed? If it's just a single speed trans why not just take it out and use just the output gear and drive it straight off of the motor? It would save weight and space. I would think that would help some of the crawlers with less chance of rolling backwards due to gear lash play and they don't need 2 speeds. The only problem that I would see is how to house it to keep the mud etc off of the gear and motor. It was just a wild thought that I had last night after I took my Diloted and was waiting on it to take affect! lol

What about gear reduction?

Without the trans, your gear ratio would be much higher, leaving pretty much no torque to move an 8-10lb TXT. All trucks have some gear reduction, either through a classic tranny or hanging off the axle.
