Default testing the new modifications (pics)

I went down to the basement and went crawlin' today. Actually in the basement of a house that was burned and abandoned years ago. This was our party spot back when I was a teenager, makes a good place to play around and crawl you just have to watch out for broken beer bottles.
I stretched the wheelbase out to 15.25". I love it! Gonna need to do rear steer now tho. :? I cut the chassis and fabricated a skidplate but didn't raise the transmission. I notched out the skid to fit snuggly around the bottom of the trans so I was still able to shave over 1/2" off the bottom of the chassis and keep a lower COG. I drove all over the piles of bricks and didn't get hung up on the center at all. I also cut the tires last weekend and this was the first time I really got to test them out.... I think I'll need to add foams to them, they crumple up and roll under a little too much. LST's will be here tomorrow so I may not bother with them for a while.
Enough rambling, here's the pics....

I drove over this spot a few times without getting hung up.

Very Cool! I'm putting together a TXT right now (that damn Dirk made me want one and now my Max Force is getting lonely :P ) and I like your skid idea. I'm also wanting to keep the CG as low as practical so if ya don't mind i'm going to steal your idea
BTW, Nice rig!

Thanks! Steal away, the mods I'm doing are all ideas I've stolen from Dirk and others on this board.

I posted some better pics of my skidplate in this thread....http://www.rccrawler.com/postt1805.html
