Default Revamping the Superbeast

I've had a TXT around here for some time now. Added some carbon fiber side plates and a battery/radio tray from Xtreme RC Racing.

I figured I'd apply some of the tips from the board to the truck.

I ditched the E-Maxx tranny and I'm working on swapping in a Stampede tranny.

Here's a few pics...

The Xtreme side plate after the cut.

As of now the tranny is bolted to one of the frame rails. I need to get some aluminum so I can make a skidplate for it.

Hopefully the GD-600 wil be here this week as well.

Looks good. Whats the best thing to cut the CF with, Dremel on High speed with an abrasive cut off wheel ? Crawler #2 is going together with Alum first and if it works well I`m going to redo the Alum parts in CF.

I do think thats the best way to mount the pede, makes for a wider chassis than what I like but all the weght is down low.

I just used my band saw and the metal cutting blade that was already on it.

The Pede tranny is as low as possible, but I think getting the battery nice and low will give the biggest improvement. As of now I have 5 1/4" of ground clearance under the center of the chassis with stock TXT tires.

We'll see how it goes, no tellin' what I'll end up doing.

Looks great so far...please keep us posted on your progress. Do you anticipate any problems with the outputs from the pede tranny not being centered between the two chassis plates?

The tranny is just bolted to the chassis side plate for now.

Once I get some aluminum it'll all change.

As long as the u joints dont bind thru the suspention cycle at an point it should work just fine, at least thats what I`m counting on as mine will be offset as well.

Jason , you going to have Superbeast running by next weekend ?

Jason when you get the gear reduction for the pede tranny, and mount it all up, please take some up close pics of it, or detailed ones, as I want to attempt to build a 4x4 pede crawler using dual GD600's. And that body looks too pretty to put rockrash on it!

Jim, I'll be sure to get pics.

It's in the garage on the workbench now. Just came back from Lowe's and figured I'd browse the forums before going to work on it.

I'll get pics later of how it's shaping up.

Oh, and Superbeast is a shelf body.

I have a blue/green CJ8 body that goes on when I run it.

Here's how the bottom looks, fairly easy. Only have one screw holding the tranny in right now.

I was worried about the driveshaft hitting the upper links when it twists...I can get it to this point before the jugg/txt shafts touch. Revo shafts will hit much sooner.

The beater body.

Still bouncing a couple of ideas around.
