Basic TXT build up
 

Very simple, easy to do modifications. The pictures pretty much explain it all. The front servo mount is the basic type, I recommend using three screws, the rear one is good for support. I used cross braces to hold the tranny in place, but just the two top screws to actually hold it in place. The shocks use two different springs. Right rear and left front are stiffer with 80 weight oil, and the other two shocks use 40 weight. Torque twist is very minimal.

The only items purchased other than the truck were the motor, and GD 600, and the borrowed softer springs. Everything else has been recycled from the original kit. Oh, and the wheels and tires, oh, and the Maxx 2.5 driveshafts.

Seriously though. Nice job. I would recommend replacing some of the cross braces to the chassis to stiffen it up. :)

Here's some wheel width comparisons.

TXT stub axles and narrowed stock TXT wheels.

Clod stub axles and uncut Clod wheels.

TXT stub axles and Proline's Outback 40 series wheels.

Clod stub axles and Heydco's Maxx wheel adapters with normal offset Proline Velocity wheels.

Clod stub axles and Heydco's Maxx wheel adapters with wide offset Proline Velocity wheels.

The threads on the shock shaft have the same pitch as the cantilever links, or rods, or whatever from the stock suspension. So I used the ball end from that, and used the longer threaded ball studs from the steering set up. The other side of the shock still uses the brass sleeve and screw from the original mounting spot.

Proline Maxx Masher tires on Maximizer 5 hole (normal offset) wheels, with Thunder Tech wheel adapters. Heydco adapters are ~1/16th of an inch wider.

That is a nice build up.

I switched over to a single 55 turn lathe motor with a 9 tooth pinion gear. With Sub C 3300s hanging out in the middle area of the truck for a central balance, it does pretty good on the late fall park drives. But it's pretty slow and the Mashers don't clear dirt very well, but they still work all packed up full of junk. Balances on it's side even with the batteries where they are, and the small tires.
