Here's a chart that I and I'm sure others have done, that shows the gear ratios of the GD-600 on a TXT-1 tranny with different pinions. Thanks to rckjeep for pointing out the correct tranny ratio. I put it inbetween code tags so the fixed width formating would keep everything lined up. TXT-1 Tranny ratio w/axles: 12.74 redux w/o gd-600 w/9t pinion: 56.62 (baseline measurement. I would venture to guess this is where alot of crawlers are currently, but looking for more torque and control, with less wheelspeed) GD-600 comes with 46t 48p spur gear and 5mm output shaft 5mm pinions available here: http://home.comcast.net/~milemarkers...ns/Pinions.htm among others I'm sure. $17 shipped from above site, each. (ouch!) PM Dude if you're interested in getting your shaft turned to accept standard 3.2mm pinions. Code: GD redux: 2.5:1 (18t 48p pinion on motor - stock as supplied from Great Planes) Output shaft pinion: tranny ratio: final redux: 15t 34 (stock) 85 14t 36.4 91 13t 39.2 98 12t 42.5 106.3 11t 46.3 115.6 10t 51 127.5 9t 56.6 141.5 GD redux: 3:1 (15t 48p pinion on motor) Output shaft pinion: tranny ratio: final redux: 15t 34 (stock) 102 14t 36.4 109.2 13t 39.2 117.6 12t 42.5 127.5 11t 46.3 139 10t 51 153 9t 56.6 170 GD redux: 3.5:1 (13t 48p pinion on motor) Output shaft pinion: tranny ratio: final redux: 15t 34 (stock) 119 14t 36.4 127.4 13t 39.2 137.2 12t 42.5 149 11t 46.3 162 10t 51 179 9t 56.6 198 GD redux: 3.8:1 (12t 48p pinion on motor) Output shaft pinion: tranny ratio: final redux: 15t 34 (stock) 129.2 14t 36.4 138.3 13t 39.2 149 12t 42.5 161.5 11t 46.3 176 10t 51 194 9t 56.6 215.1 |

I mounted my tranny backwards so my batteries would be in the front . my question is with a gd 600 can I run a normal rotation motor and does any one know if DUDE is still around ?? is the gd 600 a 5 mm shaft ?? thanks TRD |

Yes when running a GD600 with tranny backwards us a normal rotation motor.I think the shaft is 5 mm.

# of spur teeth/ # of pinion teeth = r (im using a 72t spur and a 9t pinion this = 8 ) multiply that by the trans ratio which in first gear is 2.76 8 x 2.76 ( you could use the ratio for second gear as well which is 1.72) take that and multiply it by 2.5 or whatever your ratio on your gd-600 is. im using a 3.1 to 1 ratio.....so i get 3.1 x 8 x 2.76 = then multiply that again by the txt axle ratio which is 2.0 to 1.... so i get 3.1 x 8 x 2.76 x 2 = final crawl ratio. in my example, first gear crawl ratio is 136.9 and second gear is 85.31 you want to use a 72t spur on your truck.....also you may want to use a 9-12 tooth pinion....they worked great in my old truck. and if your looking for a really low crawl ratio you may need to change the pinion on your gd-600 to a 12 tooth....it gives you a 3.8:1 ratio wich can give you that extra torque you may need. hope this some how helps.....i also have a post in general crawlers on how to calculate ratios....you should check it out if you need some extra info. | |

Could anyone tell me how to figure in tire size on the final ratio? Also how did you get 6.37 on the juggy tranny? I keep geting 1.75. Maybe I missed a gear? Thanks rchunter |
