| Alternative lower link mounts
So I have a problem with my lower links on my TXT-1. As you can see I did the common link mount relocation mod like many other TXT owners have done. I cut the mounts off the servo mounting brackets and mounted them on the tops of the axles. But now I have a problem with them breaking. I'm wondering what other options there are, what parts it will take, and how to do it. I know I've seen some other rigs with an aluminum mount or something. I would like to know if it's a part I can buy or if I have to make it. If I have to make it can anyone give me some insight? Thanks. |

You could just get some aluminium square tube or solid square bar and drill some holes in it. heres a pic of mine during a mock up while i was making the battery tray/bullbar and BTA servo mount... |

Cut off the other side and drill a hole through the center. I think I did that to all of mine.

If you have the left over scraps of the chassis from cutting it like EP's chassis you can use those as mounts.

Are these the TLT link mounts? This is exactly what I would like. Very clean looking however may throw my pinion angle off.... Can I buy just those mounts? |

I'm still working on my TXT, but this is the way I did it. It is a u-shaped aluminum profile of 10x10 mm. This gives support to both the lower links as the pushrods for the catilevers. Don't forget to turn your servo a bit so it doesn't hit your upper links! |

Last weekend I went for some bashing. As you can see above I didn't have the extra tubing over my rod-ends yet for the links. I made a nose dive off a hill and it smashed down onto the front wheels. The link supports remained undamaged (unlike my lower links and steering rod). So I'm convinced this setup works fine! I just have to get the extra tubing over my rod ends. |
