Default What I've been working on......

After seeing some of the insane ledges the 'Stick' Clods could climb, I set out to make my TXT capable of doing the same. With Grover's 'batteries in the wheels' idea, I felt most of the weight was down as low as possible so it wouldn't hurt to raise the transmission a little. It's only about half done. Still need to fab transmission mounts, lengthen a Revo shaft and tie up a few other loose ends. The body didn't quiet clear the motor. ;) It'll have a 17" wheelbase, belly clearance around 6.5"-7". I'll let ya know how it works when it's done.

Same here... Like the way how you did the motor sticking out of the body.

Be careful about that motor sticking out of the body. Rocks will like to give it love taps. I'd suggest fabbing up a small rock guard for the motor. Vinny ran with his motor sticking out of his body for a bit then needed to add a small guard to save the endbell from those tippy rock situations that'd wack the endbell.

You can see the small tube that helps guard the endbell from damage...

Well there goes my chances in 2006

I'm diggin' it so far-just try to keep the center clearance closer to 6 1/2", my truck was origonaly at 7" in the middle but that hurt the COG to much and didn't help.
Right now it sets at 6" at the lowest point (right behind the tire) and 6 1/2" in the middle, I found that I got more proformance from clearance directly behind the front tires and in front of the rear tires than I did in the middle

You need to run a split rear drive shaft with a carrier baring to raise it up out of the way.

Thanks guys! I'll post more pics of the truck when I get time to work on it again. Thanks for the advice Toyo, might have to look into a motor guard of some sort. I'll probably take the heatsink off, it looks like it'll definitely be a rock grabber.

That was the original plan.... carrier bearings in both the front and rear driveshafts, but after playing with the pinion angles I don't think a two-piece driveshaft would help much. We'll see how it looks once I get the links in place. ;)

Haha! It doesn't have a little limp shaft dangling now... it's got a long, erect shaft!

I'll try to get the electronics put back in the truck tonight. That's basically all that's needed for a test run.

There's not much of the original TXT chassis left, too late to turn back now! I hope it works!

Well, got the TXT put back together and took it for a test ride..... it'll definitely crawl over bigger obstacles now. I drove right over the top of my 2.2" Clod. It's got some wicked torque steer going on though due to the extreme angle of the links. I'm not too impressed with it's overall performance. I'll tinker with it tonight and see if I can get it to perform any better. If not I may transform the TXT back into the ol' belly dragger that it used to be. :?

Nope, 27turn modified on a GD600.;)

I'll try to get a few more pics tonight. I don't like how the truck works with the changes, it's not going to stay like this.
