TXT - 1/8 build
 

title says what i am trying to accomplish, i am new to the hobby, new to rccrawler. i got a ton of questions so instead of taking over everyone else's thread i started my own and hopefully i can get the help i need.

well this is what i got:

i just bought a TXT from rcuniverse ads 2 months ago for $350 it came with:

twin 550 motors from e-maxx
EVX2 esc
traxxas TQ3 with 3 pole switch for rear steer
2 orion 3300mah packs
2 tower pro mg995 servos (one with saver, one falling out of mount with stripped horn)
7+" mudslingers on beadlock rims dunno which rims,
dynamite dual peak charger
shipped

deal included stock rims and tires but those didnt show up. :cry: i would have prefered those over the mudslingers since i am building it MT style.

diffs were locked thats why i snapped that dogbone so i decided not to let that continue, i opened up the diffs and cleaned out the JB weld with a soldering iron and a pointed tip

alright, heres a new one. kinda glad i broke it since it is gonna help me decide what to do with it. i originally wanted to beef up the steering links, relocate the servo, and remove those hideous axle guards. looks like i will be shopping for something NOT plastic! to mount lower arms.

how are you braeking this stuff. I have ran these axle for over five year and never broke one.Even with kong tires.

my links would pop off alot so i needed a way to fix that. they either pop off or they slip off thread. ok here are a couple pics to give you an idea. some times i will crash and this is what happens other times the tie rod end pops off

In the last picture the gear that broke off, I'd fill the void in the gear with JB-weld on both sides. On one of mine where the shaft goes through I had a hairline fracture and fixed mine like that. I'd also jb weld that shaft in there to take up any play that has developed over time.

Also if you want Beefy rod ends can't beat LOSI LST ones 4mm, you just have to drill out the balls

but what i need is a wheelbase somewhere around 16 1/2" like this truck
