Default I set up my txt-1 with droop suspension

I converted my traxxas big bore shocks over to a droop type suspension a couple days ago and have to say Im pretty impressed so far. I took my traxxas big bore shocks apart and put a long pen spring on the inside under the piston and filled it back up with AE 40 wt oil. I then put on savage shock ends on the rod to make the shocks longer (to raise the ride height a bit).

I will say though that it lowered my chassis even lower and the bottom of the chassis sits even lower than it did before. Im going to try and make some long shock mounts to raise it back up a little bit. The thing sits so low though its crazy. It has no problem climbing very steep inclines now

Ahhh the good old days...

I tried droop on mine a while ago.

Check the date: TxT-1 Juggernaut Gallery

Though there it doesn't have internal springs as I hadn't figured that out yet.

It also looks like you didnt have your chassis cut like you do now. The only problem now with mine is the chassis sits too low lol I think its time to make a custom chassis for it

Edit: You know what I was also thinking of maybe just going with some longer shocks as the longer shock bodies would raise the truck up a bit. Anyone have any ideas? Right now Im using the aluminum traxxas big bore shocks not sure how long they are.

Thanks

Spacers on the shaft between the rod end and shock body will give you back some ground clearance, but may limit articulation - which could be a good thing...?

I was actually thinking about doing that but the shocks are already limited a bit travel wise because of the internal springs which in turn made the truck not articulate as much. I think I might need to get some longer shocks for it to gain a little extra travel to make up for the loss of travel Im getting from the compressed interal spring

Have you considered 1/8 buggy rear shocks? That is what I am using in my build. I only have about 10 minutes drive time on a mock up of the final build, but was very impressed with the shocks.
