Wanting to go WIDE..... Any suggestions???

Hey guys. I've finally got my truck as long as I want it.. About 15 inches of WB is what I've heard works best.. My questions still stands though.. What can I do about making my truck wider???? I"ve seen some wheel wideners on the web, but they only make the stock TXT-1 about 3/4 of an inch wider.. Are there any others wideners out there that i've missed or are there any custom mods I can do?? Please let me know.. Thanks for any help...

I've seen some that will widen each side by 1.75 inches but I heard terrible things about them and I won't even mention the name here. You could do the conversion and use StableMaxx wheels which would net a big increase for you. that would be about the best way and only way to do it, other than fabbing up something yourself. Just remember that when you start going that wide, you are putting a tremendous strain on the out knuckles, etc. Don't go too wide! If you really want width, get some Xfactor axles. Also...consider going to a 15.5 or 16 inch wheel base if you keep getting wider.

Get some adapters from ThunderTech Racing (TTR), RC4WD, or InetRC to go to Maxx style (14mm hex) wheels. Then run the RPM stableMaxx or Maxximizer X-75 beadlock wheels. That is your bet bet for going wider.

Like Dirk said, this puts alot of strain on the steering and axles but there are not alot of choices. I run this setup on my Clod axles and have not had any problems yet.

I run the maxx adapters and a modified jumbo rim, 16 inches outside of wheel to wheel...not including side biters
No breakage issues yet.

I have TTR adapters and offset Proline wheels, puts my trucks width at 15". The truck is plenty stable at 15" wide, I wouldn't want to go much wider.

CSR, did you have to change to the Clod axle shaft, or use a bushing to fill the space with the TTR adapters?
I've read something on the rc4wd site about the TXT needs additional parts.

I don't know if you found wheel widners now. If you didn't try the ones from esp hobbys. i have them and they really well and widen the truck about a 1 to a 1-1/2".
