Default upgrade jugg1

when i dig up old threads for the knowledge its all dead end links, and no more photos. just received a jugg1 today and both diffs and trans are blown. It took all i had to buy this (not knowing of condition) So I know i need new axle cases and top gears for jugg2 or txt. Can somebody sent me a list of exact parts needed. That would be awesome. Also whats the most economical approach to trans. I want sturdy which is why i bought this. (not knowing its a jugg1) also any pics with setups on jugg chassis. Thanks in advance -ben

go to Jugg 2 on Tamiya USA. There you can find parts listing, exploded view etc.

Good luck!

Hey, this is kinda off topic, but I notice you're in CT. You should hop over to NERCC.net. It's the club for the northeast.

Good Luck with the Juggy!

so what i came up with was getting all txt stuff from tamiya. Except the bevel gears on top. which are discontinued. Anybody know where to get them without getting the 75$ bag from tamiya. need #9805814 mr17 and mr18. Any aftermarket gear option?

well i found out the trans noise was just a couple shot aluminum pinion gears with a really loose mesh, and an extra long screw hitting armature in motor. also the tranny gears look new. says 1999 on them. still trying to find a way out of buying 75$ die cast bag. need the beveled gears on the top loader part of the axle.

Ben, what parts do you need exactly? I have the original set of Jugg 1 gears that were never used, but I would not recommend building it up as a Jugg 1.

Tower Hobbies currently sells the axle and trasmission cases. When Tamiya upgraded my Jugg 1 to the Jugg 2 they sent me a gear bag with new transmission gears, shafts that have half moons to keep from rotating in the case and heat sinks to attach to these shafts. The axles got new bevel gears and metal bushings if I recall (may have been ball bearings?). The problem with the Jugg 1 was that the bevel gears meshed, but were not fully supported. The Jugg 2 has longer shafts that are supported by bearings on each side. So the entire axle and tranny case was stamped with a 2000 date code. The differential unit that was used on my Jugg 1 is that same as in the Jugg 2, except that they replaced the 3 small screws that hold it together with longer ones. They had sent me an instruction sheet and new screws to use.
