There are several welders that will do the job for you. The cheapest one I've seen in the Craftsman Core Flux Welder. It's only around $200 and will do the job perfectly. The only downside to a core flux welder is that it tends to be a little messy because it'll spray boogers all over. You'll have to grind the area smooth. You can get the same type of Welder with the Lincoln name on it for about $250.

You can get a Lincoln MIG that will run you about $325-$350. It will make a cleaner, better looking weld. Only downside is that you have to have a bottle of gas with it. It's not really a downside but it's less convenient to haul it around.

Check out Cyberweld.com They have the best prices that I have seen on welder.

I also have the MillerMatic 135 and 185. I have not build an RC crawler with either.....yet, but I have build several cages for Jeep with the 135 and lately the 185. I will never get anything other than a Miller machine.

I have a lincoln 100 (like todays 135) works great.

I bought a cambell hausfield cheapy from wall mart first. DON'T BOTHER. I used it to weld a rocker panel on a friends blazer, about 1 roll of wire and the feed mechanism started to show serious wear and feeding problems. Took it back and spent a little more for the lincoln

I've had probably 15 rolls thru my lincoln over 5 or so years and not one single problem. It's hard to believe how often you'll use a little welder once you get one.

Nice Find Spicollie!

POD; there are lotsa threads like that, and next time search around to see what you can find without posting, then when you post, put those threads in that you found. Its sooo nice to be searching and find someone who has already collected all the old info.

Roktoy uses Oxy/Acet http://www.mindspring.com/~jayk6/rcs...ab/tubefab.htm

I want that Henrob like I posted in the other thread.
