I noticed some of u guys screwing around with the batt in the front, cant you just change the wiring on the motors, put the servo in the rear and your set? will this work or has someone tried and it doesnt? i would try it right now but my trucks aprart to lock the diffs! so let me know asap!!!! or just rotate to tranny 180 and put servo in back? but just change wires ( evern easyer right???) so let me know if this will work with moving servo and fliping wires!! thanks! |

You are better off not reversing the wires on the motor if the motor has advanced timing. This will cause the motor to draw more amps which will generate more heat and decrease your run times. If you have a motor with 0 degrees of timing then you can reverse the motors without any negative affect. If you install a mammoth gear reduction then you can put your battery in the front and your motor in the rear and you can leave your motor wired normally. The Mammoth gear reduction will reverse the rotation for you. This is the way my setup is. |

Like Badger said, the timing won't be right, and cause undo heat. So, I bought a reverse Mag Meyhem motor and really just drove the truck backwards. Well, until I got a GD-600 gear reduction. Then I went back to a 540 motor. Well, until I mounted my batteries elsewhere...hehe. Which I'll post about... Sounds like you're still using the 3 step mechanical speed control? |

OK - Badger I gots a bone to pick with you. - remember the "mammoth gearbox Q's" post of mine? - well I finally figured out why I wasnt understanding you -- badger wrote: No the mammoth does not reverse anything which is nice when if you need to run a motor with adv. timing. Just get a normal rotation motor. But now you say -- badger wrote: If you install a mammoth gear reduction then you can put your battery in the front and your motor in the rear and you can leave your motor wired normally. The Mammoth gear reduction will reverse the rotation for you. This is the way my setup is. So which one is it? _________________ |

I did change my post in the other thread to reflect the correct info in this thread. Bottom line is: the Mammoth does reverse the rotation so depending on where you mount your motor in the chassis (front or back) you will want to buy a reverse rotation (front) or a normal rotation (rear) motor. Sorry about the confusion. | |
