Default Reverse Wiring On TXT-1

I have read that some of you are reversing the wiring to the motors, so that you can run the battery pack up front. That would cause the motors to reverse it's rotation. I have just seen these motors and was wondering if this would do the same thing without altering the wiring? Also would you want to buy these motors over their counterparts?

You are correct. That would be a good buy since you would not have to wire the stock can motors in reverse.

I have wired my stock txt can motors in reverse and they run HOT. So does my ESC without a fan. So if you buy a reverse motor then your elctronics should last longer since they should run cooler.

I am getting a mammoth gear reduction next week, does anyone know if I need a normal rotation or a reverse rotation motor for that? I don't know if the gear reduction reverses things with the gears.

With your mammoth reduction, you will need a reverse rotation motor if you keep the motor in front. You would be better off flipping the tranny so the motor is in the rear...then you will need a regular rotation motor, and your battery will be out front helping to keep the front of the truck down when climbing.

If you run your motors in reverse you will have heaps less power and much shorter runtimes as well. I did it for a while and dont reccomend it.

Oh yeah and Badger, that new avatar of yours is, in one word, excelent.

Do you think that those new mayhem motors that are reverse rotation will be less power than the normal mayhems?

Nah they are exactly the same, they just turn the other way. You have to use 1 normal and 1 reversed in a clod so they have to be fairly well even.

To the best of my memory, the stock silver can Johnsons have 0 degrees timing, which means that they should run the same in either direction.

After all, there's not a reverse-rotation Johnson for the clods.
