Total weight is less important than weight placement, but around 10lbs is average.

| ![]() He means that it is best to get the weight low to keep a lower center of gravity! Try moving the battery from the stock location and mounting it elsewhere. I will be running (2) 7 cell packs on my new truck, one pack on each side of the truck (covered by the side body panel).

You can flip the trans around so the motors are in the back and batteries in front, then wire the motors backwards so they'll run properly. For a while I had a battery tray sitting on the upper links, with a the front of the tray zip-tied to a swaybar. Had to cut up the tray a lot to do that. Some guys get wheel weights. Some make brackets for the transmission so it can be tipped with the motor sitting lower. Lots of guys have ditched the cantilevers and switched to standard-mount shocks, then cut the chassis upper portion of the chassis that's not needed. You can also take just the part of the body mount that the body touches and secure that directly to the frame; that'll lower it a lot. Here's a shot showing some of that: ![]() Last edited by Mazlem; 03-27-2010 at 12:47 PM. |

| ![]() Yep! My body hangs down slightly longer than yours and would just about cover the exposed batteries. I am looking for as close to realisim as possible! Did you tie wrap the batteries in place or velcro them? I had an idea of making some kind of J hooks to cradle the batteries with velcro straps. |

That pic was of my first TXT some years ago. The last one I had was very similar only the batteries were on the sides using TwinForce trays; there's pics of that somewhere in here.
