Sweet! Just wondering what your 40 tooth was origionally. Is it a Tamiya gear? How were you able to connect the shafts to it? Take it that the 12 tooth is a standard pinion gearwith an enlarged shaft hole size. Genius!!!!

I will be looking into this mod further. It gives me ideas for light weight tranny alternatives...

Heck yeah the gears! Can you provide P/N#'s for which parts you used? That's what everyone has been asking for! This is a great step forward for shafty's if you can tell us what you used. We can look at your pics and figure out how you modified them, but we need to know which gears you used.

modify the pinion like this

and make a hollow shaft

grind the inside of the axle housings to fit the bigger 40t gear , a dynafile works great

I think I'll be picking up a set if you do a kit form. You might make a couple dollars... Just be sure to buy a star if you haven't already done so if you sell stuff. Don't want to get in trouble.

Whoa, wait, I must have missed the part where these are going to be available! Sign me up to that list, if there is one!

Is there any update on this gear mod? Has many tried this and how did it turn out?

Could some one update the pics or give new links?

I run them in my 14'er and they make a sick difference. The hardest part is having to trim the housings to fit.
