Default More Manly Standard Servo??

Hello all
Haven't done any research yet but figured I'd ask here. I see a lot of people running 1/4 scale servos for steering. If at all possible I do not want to have to go that route. Was wondering if there would be a more powerful servo in a standard size out there? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

FYI there is a radios and servo's section.. Search around in there,

There are a few powerful Hitec units, and then the Bluebird servo's. I haven't nuked mine yet, and I've got a REAL heavy rig w/ K-Rocks. My bluebirds are just over 200 in-oz.

Or you could go hydro like jasoninaugusta and get over 2,000 oz-in

Cool, I'll cruise around the radio/servo section and see about the "Bluebird" servos. Far as hydraulic............ Jason can debug it then maybe I'll look into it

JR has a new standard size servo that pumps out 260 oz/in at 6.0V. I'd say that is a man's servo, but it will cost you $$.

The BBs are suuuuper cheap too, which is nice. Heck, even if you do nuke one its still a quarter the cost of any other!

Exactly how cheap are they? I got a pair of XTM 175s, and would like to know in case they go the route others have had them go.

I've also heard of this new Hitec servo. It sounds pretty sweet if the price isn’t crazy.
The only info I can find on the HS-5995TG is on Servocity's page http://www.servocity.com/html/hitec_servos.html
and on Hitec's forum.

yea not much info about them, ive read about them on radiocontrozone boards but theyr now down for maintenance, but it seems that price will be slightly higher than airtronics erg-vb servos and about 50% stronger!!

I broke a the top mounts with a really cruddy servo mount and loose screws... They have held up great though, even with my SUPER heavy rig.

I am using the JR 8611 with 260oz. or torque @ 6.0/.12sec. It turns my txt tires at a standstill on carpet.

Well, those may be quite a bit more powerful, but I'm too poor as it is to blow $200 on servos! Maybe I could hide the $50 for dual Blue Birds a bit better......
