Running stock tires? I know some of you run the stock txt tire. My question is do you run any thing in them? (foam, bbs's, air soft bb's, waight) O and what do you do with your truck, do you crawl, bash it? On a side note anyone recommend a tire that will fit the txt/clod rim that does well for crawling? Thanks for any comments in advance "thumbsup" |
any body? |
Now a days most people use foams. Back when, a clod tire was just filled with air and escape holes. I heard that Ofna Pirate foams fit the clod tire, but I was unable to find them anywhere online or locally. I ended up using a set of molded foam which I believe was ofna (yellow version) and 1/2" thick foam strips to make up the difference between the rim and foam, and the tire and molded foam. From what I read online, it was recommended that there should be air holes, so I drilled 4 larger holes on the inside of the rim. I have yet to run the truck, but they look like they should be ok. Oh, my truck is a Monster Truck! |
thanks mavrim the the info |
Mine is also a monster truck but I drive it up stuff too, I don't see any rules that say what I can do with my truck.. The stock tires are firm enough that I use nothing but air in the tires. I did drill holes in the rim and I soaked the tires in WD-40 but other than that I have done nothing. They are very grabby in the dirt, but would need to do some cutting, syping and soaking for rocks. I will buy another set of rims and tires someday and cut them up so I have both rock and dirt tires. Right now I am re-doing electronics to I am sporting new paint and I'm soaking the tires in Mothers wet tire shine:mrgreen: |
