having looked and studied lots of Juggy/TXT builds on this forum, i have finally narrowed down my Jugg build into something in the likes of EeePee's TXT-1 build. i really love the way he built his, nice clean and simple. being new to shafties, i will work out the bugs as i progress, so nothing here is final. ![]() ![]() just for fitting, i used some old links ... current wheelbase is 12.5". the chassis side plates are temp, the upper link mounts get in the way of mounting the tranny ... i need to change those first. ![]() i really loved the way WRMorrison cut his tranny, so i took my B&D RTX out and cut mine the same way but left a few mm's so that i could place an aluminum angle bar dust/debris cover. ![]() i've been so busy this past months that everything you see here took 3 months to build. im hoping to get this done before the summer so i can take some vids of these at Tali and Punta Fuego, one of the best private beaches here in my country. what i plan to use ... 55t or 65t with matching pinions (no gd here) revo shafts max hex adoptors maxx mashers with beadlocks (undecided) proline chevy body electronic, nothing yet Last edited by v33; 02-06-2006 at 11:11 PM. |

Thanks guys! i had some free time today and made some concepts of how i wanted the side plates to be. i decided to retain the ladder and use this plate design. now to find time to cut and drill. ![]() |

Thanks guys! the clod hard body will be too heavy to use and cracks easily its definitely just for show. im still deciding which body to really use but was thinking of a ford 76 or 72 if i retain the 12.5 inch wheel base. i made new servo plates with top link mounts. ![]() ![]() ![]() i will definitely be redoing these as soon as i get my drillpress. |

did some shaft test fitting and mounted the tranny. ![]() turns out the revo shaft was too long for the current 2.2 setup. being my first shafty, i wanted to see first hand how it would fair configured with a 16 inch wheelbase, so i lengthened the rig. ![]() for comparison only to the previous pics ... note the clod shell isnt mounted. ![]() |

just tested iT topless ... kinda love how it handles even with stock motors and tires. would have purchased moabs xls and some cheyennes but i dont have adaptors available and that will take time, also lathe motors arent available at the lhs. ![]() i forgot who first mounted their battery pack this way, but it sure beats the hassles of mounting them on the axles. ![]() ![]() ![]() rear shot. i still have to make decent lockers, i dont have servos for 4ws. i got GP 3700 batteries and love the way the jugg handles with it ... it maybe the matched batteries, but it sure handles better than my clod. |

Cool man. The motor way down there is the ticket for these trucks. I've literally flipped my Tranny upside down. My motor hangs about 2/3rds it's diameter BELOW the bottom of the frame now. Sure, a Lathe motor makes a great skid plate! |

Thanks guys! made more progress today and got me a Proline 72 Chevy C-10 and painted it black. i was opting for a 70 Ford F-100, but this is the body i really liked, im a fan of the angled look so i got the Chevy which to me is sexier. this is the body, useless in its current state. ![]() ![]() and another useless shot since i cant get it to fit. i was however trying to decide where to place the body post ... still undecided though. ![]() this is it all painted black. its the first time ever i painted a shell black using poly paint ... i usually paint my body flat black from the outside. ![]() i will be ordering next week, Bender's cool 23mm adaptors and then follow it up with some Cheyennes and Moab XLs or maybe the wider moabs, still havent decided. i wanted maxx mashers but since the wheelbase increased from a 12.5 to a 16 incher i gotta go big and bad. im bringing the truck to the beach this weekend, maybe i can get some vids ... the new body will be off though, i will use the old clod shell to bash. just got some 2nd hand tires to play around with before i machine the final chassis, parts and 14mm adaptors. will get brand new stuff when im happy with the dimensions. ![]() body unmounted, im still fabbing the alu mounts, should be ready in a few days. ![]() there are no 12 to 14 hex adaptors yet and its just a mock up. ![]() wheel base is now less than 14 inches, but i plan on widening a little bit if need, i need to see how she performs. |

Looks great! I think you shall paint the lights, the grill and the bumpers on that body, because it looks so naked. But that's my opinion. Maybe you shall put some decals on the body too. Last edited by mt_power; 05-12-2006 at 11:06 AM. |
