Default "RockMonkey" gets a makeover *56K killer!*

Here's a little project I've been working on..... a 2.2" Class comp rig, using TXT axles and transmission. I used TLT link brackets on the axles, Thanks for the idea Unimoger. ;) Maxx turnbuckle links, a 55T with a 9 tooth pinion, it will have a Super Rooster and TQ3 radio. Gonna top it with a HPI Bronco body.;)

That FJ is CSR's trademark body. Remember?

Oh wait, you're a newb!

Looks sweet Chris. Get a new camera already!

Thanks Cory! Going to pick up a new camera tomorrow..... Kodak Z740.

That body has been in about four different issues of RCDriver! That should make it worth lots of money, right? The cell phone pics hide the scratches, trust me guys, this body is very used.

It's still a good looking body. All the scratches and dents and holes just give it character.

I wish they still made them, I hate the jeep type bodies they make now days.
They always want to put wierd supports in the back that take away from the original scale appearence. Plus the HPI body is overly used, seems like everyone owns one. I guess I better grab a powerwagon body before they catch on and I end up looking like I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Although I do like the 30's style bodies.

Nice Fj by the way, I used to own a real one when I was younger. DD hit me and totaled it out.

The pint-sized TXT is almost complete! I still need to pull it apart to clean up and polish the chassis.

So far I'm impressed with it's capabilities. It's Very stable! It'll stick to off camber obstacles really well. I gave up a lot of center clearance in favor of a low COG. We'll see how that works in competition. I can raise the chassis a full inch in 1/4 inch increments by moving the upper shock mounts if I need to.;)

Recycled the 'ol Cruiser body.....

The lower links and shocks are attached to the axle Unimoger-style, using TLT brackets on the back side of the axle. This left room on the axle tube for the servo.

A couple of naked shots.....

And the flex shot......

It looks like the rig has too much flex, but it's very controlled. The Integy blue springs are firm, so I actually had to force the truck down to get this much flex.

Pretty cool Chris. I actually think when you say UniMoger style, you mean Sparky J style. He did it on his 14'r before Uni used the idea. Really cool idea at that.

I sized my TXT up on 2.2s a while ago and I thought it looked goofy, like a monster truck with it's trailer wheels on or something. Yours looks great though.

Good to see the FJ being used again.

I put together a video today of the little TXT in action. I can't get the full version with music uploaded anywhere.... guess the file is too big? Here's a little sample....... I actually get on some real rocks in the full version. ;)

A couple of people have asked about the servo mount on the axle...... so here's a few pics. A 3mm bolt is ran up thru one of the holes in the axle housing and into the black servo mount, the aluminum angle is also attached to the housing using one of the existing screws.

Painted up a new lid for the 2.2" TXT. I thought about waiting 'til I had the Twisted-Toys rock rings on before I posted pics.... but I couldn't wait.
