That avatar isn't up to date.

Here's one of my incarnations...for posting a picture's sake.

I'm working on it Geez! I need to finish the truck and use it before I can get some good shots of it. I'm almost done with the front shocks but now the body mounts can go where they were so I need to figure that out.

Do you see what time it is? I have now idea. I just put it back to its configuration at the begining of this thread. I didn't like how much higher it was and I couldn't get the body mounted tonight without making brackets. So F it I put it back to it's low setting. Not it's ultra low setting but it;s low setting. I drove it like it sits now yesterday and like it a lot. I was fibbing earlier. I couldn't give away how well it worked this soon before an event. It;s got 3 3/4" of belly clearence, Ultra low sits at an even 3". It doesn't have a ton of flex but the COG is down there. and the weight is centrally located which I think really aids to how well it climbed the other day. I'm going to bed now.

Well I ended up changing the shocks back to the first pic in this thread for today crawl. Aside some limited flex It works very well. I hit the skid a bit more than I did before but I really like the low COG. What do you guys that crawled today think?

Is that the 'ultra low' configuration with 3" of center clearance?

I think so. It doesn't have the flex that it had with canti's. I did hit the tranny skid more than before. But I was climbing stuff most of the group couldn't climb. Though there was a spot that we all tried and only 1Beatjeep made it up. It seems to me his torque twist helped him out. Where as most of use have eliminated.

Very Interesting?????
I have yet to see the infamous twist be benefical in any way. But to each their own.
Most people get rid of their leaf springs, but I am stuborn and keep replacing them

Also, do you think the vertical orientation of your shocks is solely responsibly for diminishing your torque twist. I "thought" the converging of the links at the frame was the easiest way to give it the AXE.

I haven't tried the link trick. I'm still using the stock ballends so I just started messing with the shocks. Since they are mounted so far out they definitely keep the twist in control.

The reason it helped him was because it added traction to the right side tires which were light of lifted.

The green Jeep is going down what 1BeatJeep went up. It's very steep and off camber.

I think you might have it backwards? I looked to me like he had the torqe twist controled which kept his front left tire down and gave him the little extra traction he needed.

Well which ever side it was, I believe the twist helped him out. At least I spelled Torque correctly. Spell Check King

Torque twist could not have helped him because with the TXT twists it lifts the front left tire in the air, and from what I remember 1beatjeep's did not do that and since the front left tire was on the ground he had the traction he needed.

Did I miss something?

Torque is one of the ten words I can spell.

It's this new POS Dell laptop I got from work, you have to pound on the keyboard.

Anyone want to trade a laptop for a crawler?

Yes you are correct on the twist thing. But add this

When the torque is applied and the left front tire is unweighted what happens to the right front tire? The axles central pivot point is at the driveshaft yoke right. So it then adds weight to the right front tire. Walahh! Make sense?
