Default New Body (and new camera) For Me

Hello all
Well, finally picked up a fresh body for the TXT. Ended up going for one of the ProLine HD Silverado for a T/E-Maxx I guess it is for. Actually worked out pretty nice, least I like it. Kind of missed getting it centered on the chassis but it looks ok. Also got a new digi-cam from Santa that I am still learning about. Takes some killer pictures, probably better than what is posted here but lots to learn yet. Anywho, thought I'd share. Dunno if it is just me, but is it hard to photograph white trucks?

If you're wondering what is in the "fuel tank", look in the electronics forum

Correct........it does appear this is a Chevrolet body. Is what my daily driver (also read gas hog) is. Have a 2004 2500HD with a very thirsty 8.1 liter (496 cubes) and an Allison. Might drive the TXT to work, probably gets better mileage. Have always had Chevrolet vehicles with no complaints. I have a 30ft trailer (RV) that follows me places every weekend during the camping seasons so kind of need it.

Hee hee, PT Cruiser to hang on the bumper. Actually, that is the wife's ride and with my old truck (02 2500HD) it did hang on the bumper. I backed into it in my own driveway, on our wedding annivesary no less
Anyway, I am actually talking with Matt from Scale Hobbies about a shell. Hopefully we can come up with something.

Should have got the diesel. With gas out here at $2.25 for regular during the summer and $2.45 out in the sticks Diesel makes it nice. Plus you don't have to deal with the Smog Nazi Susan Lieberman. B!tch!

Actually, diesel is higher than gas here right now. Gas is currently $1.63 a gallon and I think diesel is $1.83 if I saw correctly. I like my big thirsty 496 anyway and coupled with the Allison tranny........ fun ride. That and the Duramax was another $4200 I didn't have in my pocket

It takes ALOT of fillup's to make up for the cost of a diesel truck.

The new body looks schweet Bill, a topper would be a very cool addition.

Sorry for getting further off topic, but..... A friend of mine calculated how long it would take for a diesel to 'pay for itself', it was how he tried to convince his wife the $4500 PowerStroke option was a good deal. He factored in fuel cost and average MPG of the diesel and the gas trucks. At the time he was commuting around 160 miles a day. He figured the he'd break even on the diesel option in 5 years. 8O Then a few months after he bought the truck diesel prices went higher than premium unleaded! :P

CSR, going more off topic....... I did look into the cost of a diesel in the long run and didn't want anything to do with it. Specs for a truck such as mine with a Duramax or a 496 like mine are the same except for 5th wheel tow ratings. Ball hitch type, I am good for 12,000lbs and 15,200lbs for a 5th wheel if I remember right. Obviously the diesel produces a lot more low end grunt at a lower rpm than my gasser but that is ok.Don't drive it that much anyway, just to and from the shop with an average of 11.8mpg . Have had big blocks (Chevy) before in pass. cars and love 'em.
Anywho, back to the original purpose of this post. Hoping to get a shell for the body (wouldn't run it). As stated previous, working with Matt from Scale Hobbies to see if any of his existing shells would work. We'll see.

The duramax is a cruddy diesel anyhow. That gas motor is way better.
