Default Axle Steer Problem....... Fixes?

Hello all
Been fighting "axle steer" on my TXT. Wheelbase is 15.125 and both upper and lower links are on the same mount point on the chassis. For example, if the truck is leaned to the left the left front tire goes towards the rear and the left rear tire goes towards the front.
I have only so far, tried extending the lower links. This helped very little so wondering what the deal is. When I get time the plan is to ditch the cants and set up axle mount shocks like Badger, RCKJeep and many others run on their TXT based trucks. Wondering if that might help some too? Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

I guessing that your links need to be trianglulated more. And don't mount your links to the same point on the frame. It isn't the right way to do a four link. If I'm understanding what you mean by axle steer.

Hello
Thanks for the reply RCKJeep. Shot some pics of how my links are set up and top views of what the axles are doing. Maybe this will better show what is going on. Was thinking, wonder if it is because my canti pushrods are at an angle? Wouldn't think that would do anything but put more leverage on the canti itself.

Pretty interesting eh?

OK I've noted on your pics what to do. Hope it helps. You can blame Badger for my new found geekness. If it wasn't for him I'd still be learning how to type on this board.

Take out the cross member (circled) and move your lower links back inside. Then mount your uppers inside and in the hole the cross member left open.

You should have both upper and lower links in a triangle shape. Not just one set. see the yellow lines. Hope this helps

Exactly the info I was looking for RCKJeep, thanks a ton. Will try that this afternoon and post my findings. Appears I'll have to make some new links though. If I lengthen the lowers my wheelbase is gonna be over what I'd like. Soooooooo, looks like I'll see if the stock uppers can be shortened or just make new ones.
Badger, I'll try and refrain from having hairy body parts in my pictures from now on Was the only arm available at 1am.

I wouldn't think you'd have to mess with link length. I'm ok with arms just keep hairy schlongs out of the picture.

rcalloys
you need to move your bottom link back inside. It does not matter if your links are mounted in the same spot on the frame cause mine are mounted on the frame in the same spot and it works great. So move bottom links back inside and you should not have a problem

Okey doke, did my modifications as per RCKJeep's nifty drawing and instruction. Had to shorten the uppers to get the axle back where I wanted it. Didn't want it pointing towards the sky. Then....... shortened the uppers too much. Didn't feel like making new links today so I shimmed 'em and got it all back where I wanted it. Seems to have helped quite a bit, still have a weeeee bit of axle steer though. Guess there is no way to get rid of it completely.
Would post pics but nothing much to show, is like the pictures RCKJeep edited with the yellow and such. That and don't want to upset or distrub anyone with my hairy arm again. Far as schlongs go, no worries..........is too cold here for that Thanks for the help all!
