Looks good Ramond. I would cut off the lower tranny mount and make a skid JB-Weld mold mount like some guys do here. It will lower your COG down some.

Looks sweet, very clean.
I'm w/ badger cutting tranny is KEY.
I used his tips to do mine.
Keeps COG low.

Badger is th eonly thing holding the bottom of the trans in is the "mold" made of jb-weld?

Keep in mind. I don't know if anyone is doing this already....but you can put in cross link chasis braces that will keep the tranny in very snug. It kind of wedges the tranny in place. You won't need anything at the bottom to keep the tranny from moving around.

You could fab a plate that ties a crossmember to the 2 shaft ends in tranny (under your tranny's heatsinks, which you really don't need w/ crawler because we're slowpokes).

I know it's hard to see, top center of pic. I used a piece of 1/4" square alum and tied one shaft end, in tranny, to a stock crossmember. 8O

Yes, worked great until I changed my config and put my battery in the skid.

Digler's idea is also a great option. Should be very easy to do as well.

The way I do it, you don't need to worry about the height of your tranny in relation to the skid plate. I'm also making my new skid plate from aluminum rollers.....kind of like the conveyer belt things you see at airports that your luggage slide around on.

Really? That would be cool.

I am also working on a new chassis for my TXT. I am going to bolt the axles to a belt sander, then when I get hung up just turn on the belt sander and I will launch off of the obstacle.
